Avoiding hazards caused by defective pressing collars and
adapter jaws
Pressing collars and adapter jaws are exposed to serious
forces during the pressing procedure and wear out.
The use of worn or damaged pressing collars and adapter
jaws can lead to serious injuries or death as a result of flying
fragments.
• Only use the pressing collars and adapter jaws if they are in
perfect working order
• Adhere to maintenance intervals
• Regularly inspect pressing collars and adapter jaws for
defects and damage before and after every use. Inspect the
pressing attachments particularly for incipient cracks in the
pressing contour and on the flange
• If there are incipient cracks, take the entire pressing collar
and adapter jaw out of service immediately and do not use
them again
Avoiding damage to the pressing collars and adapter jaws
caused by faulty pressing operations
Pressing collars and adapter jaws can be damaged by faulty
pressing operations or use; for example, by being pressed by
foreign bodies.
• Only use Geberit pressing collars and adapter jaws that
carry the same compatibility mark as the pressing tool
• Only use pressing collars and adapter jaws that correspond
to the diameter of the pressfittings to be processed
• Do not tilt the pressing collar on the pressfitting
• If you suspect that the pressing collar and/or adapter jaw
are damaged, replace them and have the damaged pressing
collar and/or adapter jaw tested by an authorised repair
