if loose clothing, jewellery, hair or gloves are
not kept away from the tool or accessories.
Hazards connected with using the tool as a
grinder
Using the tool can expose the operator's
hands to hazards such as crushing, impact,
cutting, abrasion and heat. Wear suitable
gloves to protect your hands. The operator
and the maintenance personnel should be
physically able to cope with the quantity,
weight and power of the tool. Hold the tool
correctly. Be prepared to withstand normal
or unexpected movements and always keep
both hands at the ready. Keep your feet in
balance and in a safe position. The pressure
on the start and stop device should be re-
leased in the event of a power failure. Use
only the lubricants recommended by the
manufacturer. Protective goggles must be
worn, and we recommend wearing suita-
ble gloves and protective clothing. Check
the polishing disc before each use. Do not
use cracked or broken discs or discs which
have been dropped. Avoid direct contact
with the moving polishing disc. This will pre-
vent hands or other body parts from being
crushed or cut. Use suitable gloves to protect
hands. Never start the tool if no abrasive has
been applied to the workpiece. There is a risk
of electrostatic discharge when working on
plastic or non-conductive parts. Polishing or
grinding can generate dust and fumes which
can create an explosive atmosphere. Always
use dust absorption or extraction systems
which are appropriate to the workpiece.
Hazards connected with using the tool as an
oscillating cutter
Avoid contact with the saw blade, knife or cut-
ter to prevent cutting of hands and other body
parts. The guards should always be fi xed in
place and in good condition. Damaged, bent
or severely worn guards should be replaced
by guards recommended by the tool manufac-
turer. Make sure that the retractable guards
immediately return to the fully closed position
each time they are released from the open
position. Retractable guards should never be
set or tied in the open position or locked in any
other manner. Using the tool can expose the
operator's hands to hazards such as crush-
ing, impact, cutting, abrasion and heat. Wear
suitable gloves to protect your hands. The op-
erator and the maintenance personnel should
be physically able to cope with the quantity,
weight and power of the tool. Hold the tool

correctly. Be prepared to withstand normal
or unexpected movements and always keep
both hands at the ready. Keep your feet in
balance and in a safe position. Avoid injury
from cutting or severing: avoid contact with
the saw blade, knife or cutter whenever the
tool is connected to a power source. Wear
protective equipment such as gloves, apron
and helmet. Injuries can be caused by un-
controlled tool movements: always make sure
that all guides (if fi tted) are held fi rmly on the
workpiece. Wear protective gloves as cutting
with this tool creates sharp edges. The pres-
sure on the start and stop device should be
released in the event of a power failure. Use
only the lubricants recommended by the man-
ufacturer. Protective goggles must be worn,
and we recommend wearing suitable gloves
and protective clothing. Be aware that the in-
serted rotating tool will remain in motion after
the start and stop trigger has been released.
Hazards connected with repetitive movements
When using a pneumatic tool for work en-
tailing repetitive movements, the operator is
exposed to the discomfort of hands, arms,
shoulders, neck or other parts of the body.
When using a pneumatic tool, the operator
should take a comfortable posture to ensure
the feet are correctly positioned and avoid
strange or unbalanced postures. The operator
should change the posture over a long period
of time to avoid discomfort and fatigue. If the
operator experiences symptoms such as per-
sistent or repeated discomfort, pain, pulsating
pain, tingling, numbness, burning or stiff ness.
The operator should not ignore them, but in-
form the employer and consult a doctor.
Hazards connected with accessories
Disconnect the tool from the power supply
before replacing the inserted tool or accesso-
ry. Avoid direct contact with the inserted tool
during and after work, it can be hot or sharp.
Use accessories and consumables only in the
sizes and types recommended by the man-
ufacturer. Do not use other types or sizes of
accessories. Do not use grinding or cutting
wheels. Make sure that the maximum speed
of the inserted tool (grinding fl ap wheels,
abrasive belts, fi bre discs, polishing discs) is
higher than the rated speed of the grinder or
polisher. Self-locking polishing blades should
be mounted concentrically on the polishing
disc. Check the accessory before use. Do not
use accessories which have been dropped or
have chips, cracks or any damage.
