Is the workplace free from trip hazards? Keep your
„
working area tidy! Untidiness can cause accidents –
danger of stumbling!
Pay attention to the surroundings:
„
Do not work if there is insufficient light (e.g. mist,
„
rain, drifting snow or twilight). You may no longer
be able to recognise details in the falling area –
danger of accidents!
Do not use the machine in the vicinity of
„
flammable fluids or gases – danger of fire!
The user is responsible for accidents or dangers
„
that represent a risk to other people or their
property.
Safety instructions – operation
Never work with only one hand. Always hold the
„
machine with both hands.
Never work
„
with outstretched arms
„
at points that are difficult to reach
„
over shoulder height − standing on a ladder, a
„
working scaffold or on a tree.
Work on level ground that is not slippery. Avoid an
„
abnormal bodily posture. Make sure you can stand
safely and keep your balance at all times.
During breaks in work, switch the machine off and
„
put it down so no-one will be endangered. Protect the
machine against unauthorised access.
Safety instructions – during work
Never work alone. Always maintain voice and eye
„
contact with other people so that help can be provided
immediately in an emergency.
Immediately stop the engine in case of danger or in an
„
emergency.
Never let the machine run unsupervised.
„
The machine produces pollutants! Never allow it to
„
run in enclosed or poorly ventilated rooms. Make sure
there is an adequate exchange of air if you are working
in wells, ditches or cramped surroundings. There is a
danger of carbon monoxide poisoning or suffocation!
Immediately stop work if you start to feel unwell (e.g.
„
headaches, dizziness, nausea, etc.) – Increased risk
of accidents!
Do not overload the machine! You can work
„
more effectively and more safely in the specified
performance range.
Take breaks during the work to allow the engine to
„
cool down.

Do not place the hot machine onto dry grass or onto
„
flammable objects.
Never touch the silencer and the engine whilst the
„
machine is running or shortly after it has been stopped.
Danger of burns!
Vibrations
If people with circulatory disorders are exposed to
vibration excessively frequently, this can cause damage to
the nervous system or blood vessels.
You can reduce the vibration:
Using sturdy, warm working gloves
„
By shortening the working time (take several lengthy
„
brakes)
Consult a doctor if your fingers swell up, if you feel unwell
or if your fingers loose their feeling.
General – safety instructions
Look after the machine with care:
„
Follow maintenance instructions and instructions
„
for the tool change.
Keep the handles dry and free from resin, oil and
„
grease.
Only install the cutting tools designed for the machine.
„
Using other tools and other accessories represents a
risk of injury to you.
Check the machine for possible damage:
„
Before continuing to use the machine, inspect
„
the protective devices carefully to make sure
they are functioning correctly and as intended.
Only operate the machine with all the protective
devices attached correctly, and do not make any
modifications to the machine which could impair
safety.
Check that the moving parts are functioning
„
correctly, do not stick and that there are no
damaged parts. All parts must be installed
correctly and meet all the conditions for ensuring
correct operation.
Damaged protective devices and parts must be
„
repaired or renewed by an authorised specialist
workshop, unless specified otherwise in the
instructions for use.
Damaged or illegible safety stickers must be
„
renewed.
