In case of a breakdown, you must:
• switch off the appliance, if possible;
• remove the plug from the socket;
• apply for a repair;
• some small problems can be resolved by the user himself, using the instructions in the table below. Check all points in the
table in sequence, before contacting the maintenance or customer service.
Breakdown (code)
The metal parts in the water
reservoir show signs of rust.
Water is leaking from the
bottom of the appliance.
There is water leaking from
the filter.
The coffee has a sour, acidic
taste.
The appliance no longer works.
The milk will not foam.
When switching on the
appliance, the indicator light
next to the coffee and/or steam
button is flashing quickly.
When using, there are flakes
coming out of the steam pipe.
Attention: Never repair a fault yourself. When the solution is not mentioned in the table above, please contact the
maintenance department or customer service department.
This symbol means that this product should not be disposed of with regular household waste (2012/19/EU).

BREAKDOWNS AND SOLUTIONS
Cause
The used de-scaler is not the
recommended type, this could
affect the parts in the reservoir.
There is too much water in the
leak tray.
The appliance is not working
properly.
There are coffee residues on the
rim of the filter.
The appliance has not been
properly rinsed after de-scaling.
The coffee used has been stored
on a warm, damp location, making
it unfit for use.
The plug is not properly in the
socket.
The attachment has not been
placed on the steam pipe.
The indicator light at the steam
button does not switch on.
The used milk container is too large
or the shape is not correct.
The milk used is not correct.
One or both of the buttons is/are
still pressed down.
The steam pipe has not been
properly cleaned.

What to do
Use the correct de-scaling agent.
Empty the leak tray.
Contact the service department or customer service
department.
Remove the coffee residues.
Clean the appliance several times, as indicated in section
PRIOR TO FIRST USE .
Use fresh coffee and store unused coffee on a cool and dry
location. Properly close an opened package and store it in a
refrigerator to keep the coffee fresh.
Make sure the plug is properly inserted in the wall socket.
If the appliance is still not working, please contact the
maintenance department or customer service department .
Place the attachment on the steam pipe.
The light must first switch on before it is possible to foam milk.
Use a high and narrow container.
Use full-cream or semi-skimmed milk.
Press the button(s) concerned to turn them off.
Properly rinse the steam pipe, see section HEATING UP
(CHOCOLATE) MILK
