Full-Body /Multi Access Blanket
Blanket for use with WarmTouch™ warming units only

intended for single use. Attempts to clean or sterilize these devices may result in a bio-incompatibility, infection or
product failure risks to the patient.

Indications
The WarmTouch™ Patient Warming System (warming unit and blanket) is intended for prevention and treatment of
hypothermia, for example, with the surgical patient, the patient in the pre-operative holding area, the pregnant woman
who shivers during epidural anesthesia due to hypothermia, or any patient who is uncomfortable anywhere in the cold
critical care environment.
Instructions for Use
1. Position warming unit next to patient and plug into an approved AC power oulet.
2. Place the blanket over the patient with the perforated side next to the skin. (1)
3. Open the blanket inlet by grasping the top tab and pulling the inlet open. (2)
4. Insert the WarmTouch Patient Warming System nozzle into the blanket inlet. Ensure that the inlet is clamped under
the nozzle clip. (3)
5. Connect the WarmTouch Patient Warming System nozzle blanket clip to the drape or bed sheet.
6. Turn on the WarmTouch System warming unit on. Refer to the WarmTouch System Operator's Manual.
7. Select the appropriate air temperature setting on the WarmTouch unit. Refer to the WarmTouch System Operator's
Manual.
8. Continually monitor the patient's core temperature while the WarmTouch Patient Warming System is in use.
9. If access to the chest is desired, carefully tear open the center slit area.
10. If access to the feet is desired, carefully tear open the slit areas located along the edge below the blanket inlet.

Possible explosion hazard. Do not use the WarmTouch system near flammable anesthetics.

Avoid contact of a laser or an electrosurgical active electrode with blanket material or rapid
combustion could result.
WArNINgS
• Do not apply heat directly to open wounds. All patient wounds that will be under the blanket should be
covered before using the WarmTouch Patient Warming System.
• If a malfunction occurs in the WarmTouch Patient Warming System warming unit, immediately turn off
the unit.
• The Full-Body /Multi Access Blanket must be connected to the WarmTouch hose nozzle.
Do not direct air from the hose to the patient (free-hosing) or thermal injury may occur.
• Use only WarmTouch blankets with theWarmTouch Patient Warming System. The performance of the
WarmTouch Patient Warming System has only been evaluated and validated using WarmTouch blankets.
CAUTIoNS
• Make sure the patient is dry, or the WarmTouch System may be ineffective.
• Continuously monitor the patient's temperature and vital signs. Reduce air temperature or discontinue therapy
when normothermia is reached.
• The WarmTouch Patient Warming System uses an air filter, however, the risk of airborne contamination should not
be overlooked when the WarmTouch Patient Warming System is used. Refer to the WarmTouch Patient Warming
System Service Manual for the filter replacement.
• Use caution and consider discontinuing use during vascular surgery when an artery to an extremity is clamped.
Do not apply the WarmTouch Patient Warming System to ischemic limbs. Use caution and monitor closely if used
on patients with severe peripheral vascular disease.
• If hypotension occurs, consider reducing air temperature or turning off the WarmTouch Patient Warming System.
• The Full-Body /Multi Access Blanket is a single-patient non-sterile item.
