Oil filling
Remove the oil plug and fill up to the middle of the oil sight glass at the bottom of the housing.
Operation without oil or with insufficient oil may damage the vacuum pump.
The use of an oil, other than that recommended by MIL'S, engages your responsibility and/or
responsibility of your supplier. The use of unsuitable oil can destroy the pump.
3.1.4.
Electrical connection
The electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician to ensure the
connection to be carried out correctly and in accordance with the regulations in force in the
country of use.
If the loss of vacuum can be dangerous to the process in which it is used, the vacuum pump
and its control system must be connected to a backup power supply.
The electrical specifications of the motor must correspond to the mains power supply (voltage, frequency,
current).
If necessary, change the position of the jumpers in the motor terminal box according to the available
voltage. The motor must be protected by a magneto-thermal circuit breaker. Adjust the rating of the
circuit-breaker in relation to the current indicated on the motor.
If the magneto-thermal circuit breaker cuts off the power supply to the pump:
Find the cause of the fault and eliminate it
Wait until the oil temperature has cooled to room temperature before starting the pump again.

The pumps are designed for direct start-up. The motors are IP55, class F.
The maximum recommended number of starts is limited to 6 to 10 per hour depending on the power rating
(see § 3.2.).

The standard motors are dual voltage: 400V / 690V. Contact us for other voltages.

Types of start-up:
Before starting the pump, check its oil level (see § 3.1.3.).
Standard voltage range:
50 Hz
230 / 400 V ± 10%
60 Hz
Turn on the pump momentarily to check the rotation direction (red arrow on the electric motor). If
265 / 460 V ± 10%
necessary, change the direction by switching over two wires on the motor power supply.
Switch the pump on again and after three minutes of operation, stop the pump to top up the oil level if
necessary.
Direct start-up: the pump can start direct on line, even while being under load, but the in-such
current will be significant. It is necessary that the electric installation is designed to hold this type
of starting.
To check the direction of rotation, it is advisable to use
an over-pressure manual valve to prevent damage to
the pump rotor and motor.
When checking the rotation direction, the over-pressure
manual valve must be opened, then, once this operation
has been carried out, it must be closed.
Option reference: 621715
Star/delta start-up: for the "star" period, it is
necessary to have a venting to the atmospheric air
between the inlet valve of the pump and the pump
body to ensure the launching of the motor rotation.
The bypass diameter must be at least of dia.25 mm.
Progressive starter: it is necessary to take a progressive starter with a starting booster function in
order to give the maximum torque during few thousandth seconds before attacking the slope of
starting.
With a standard progressive starter, it is necessary to envisage a venting to the atmospheric air
like previously.
Speed controller: the pump can be started and stopped by a variable speed drive without adding a
venting to the atmospheric air. The solution is rather expensive, but it is most pleasant for the
pump.
3.2.
Commissioning
It is strictly forbidden to operate the vacuum pump with one or more disassembled
components or the motor terminal box open.
Operation in the wrong direction of rotation can damage the vacuum pump.
