• Before take-off the wire (B-) from the grounding point or from the battery (B-),
turn OFF the ignition.
• Never open the product casing.
3.2 Risk of acid burns
During the measuring of exhaust gases are used exhaust gas
collector hoses that when reach temperatures upper than 250°C or
in case of fire, they release an extremely corrosive gas (hydrogen
fluoride), that might affect the respiratory system.
How to proceed:
• In case of inhalation, get medical attention immediately!
• In order to eliminate the combustion debris, use neoprene or PVC gloves.
• Neutralize the combustion debris with a solution of calcium hydroxide. The
resultant is calcium fluoride which is not toxic and can be washed with water.
The acids and alkali solutions might seriously erode
unprotected skin. Hydrogen fluoride with humidity (water)
become hydrofluoric acid. The water from condensation that
accumulates in the gas collector hose and in the condensation
container, also contains acid.
How to proceed:
• When replacing the O2 measuring sensor, remember that it contains an alkali
solution.
• When replacing the NO measuring sensor. Remember that it contains acid.
• Rinse immediately the affected skin and get medical attention!
• The discarded NO and O2 measuring sensors are special waste and must be
treated accordingly. Your Tecnomotor distributor can eliminate them properly.
If the Liquid Crystal Display gets damaged and some liquid gets
out, don´t allow its direct contact with the skin, nor its inhale nor
ingestion!
