Procedure
To avoid property damage, protect soft vinyl or other
flooring with cardboard, rugs, or other protective
material.
Important
• DB11 Handle kit must be installed prior to HK520
trim kit installation.
1. If end caps are installed on end of freezer door,
remove end caps by removing handle insert. Handle
insert may be removed by prying up one end and
pulling out. Loosen outside screws with 6 mm hex nut
driver and pull end caps out end of handle. Tighten
screws and replace freezer handle insert.
2. Remove plugs from top and sides of refrigerator door
by placing screwdriver, blade end covered with
masking tape, underneath plugs and lifting up.
3. Remove top hinge cover by lifting back and sliding
forward. Remove top hinge by removing screws with a
8 mm hex nut driver. (See illustration below. )
To prevent personal injury or property damage from
refrigerator door falling, have second person hold door
while removing top hinge.

4. Remove refrigerator door by lifting while opening. This
will release refrigerator door from center hinge pin.
Place door on a soft, flat surface.

5. Lift door closure off center hinge pin. Remove center
hinge pin with a 7 mm hex nut driver.

6. Remove freezer door by lifting while opening. This will
release freezer door from bottom hinge pin. Place
door on a soft, flat surface. Support rod will be loose
when removing freezer door.
7. Confirm doors are clean and dry.
8. Remove door stops from bottom of both doors by
removing screws with a Phillips screwdriver. Remove
remaining screws from bottom of doors.
• If there is a shim beneath the bottom hinge door
closure, remove the phillips screw and door
closure. Discard shim and re-install door closure
and phillips screw.
Important
• Permanent, double-sided tape is used to attach trim
pieces. Before removing paper backing, check
placement of trim pieces on door. Trim pieces may be
damaged if adjustment or removal is attempted after
installation.
Freezer Door
9. Install bottom trim by installing screws in inside
holes. Reinstall door stop and remaining screws.
Freezer door bottom trim will have 6 sets of round
holes.
10. Install freezer door by positioning door on bottom
hinge pin. Install center hinge pin and door closurer
removed in step 5. Right hinge application, install
freezer trim plug by placing in left side top freezer
door hole. Left hinge application, install freezer trim
plug by placing in right side top freezer door hole.
11. Align top and hinge side trim on door. After checking
placement, peel off paper backing and press trim in
place. Freezer door side trim will be cupped on both
ends. Freezer door top trim has no holes and is
slightly shorter than top refrigerator door trim.
12. Install freezer door decorator panel by sliding panel in
from handle side of freezer door.
13. Align freezer door handle side trim. After verifying
placement, peel off paper backing and press trim in
place. Freezer door side trim will be cupped on both
ends.
14. Open door 180° then close door to confirm panel and
trim fit properly.
