Mounting Dimensions
L Left Hand (LH) shown throughout instructions. Right Hand (RH) opposite.

1 Determine the degree of door opening required and find
dimensions "A" and "B" in the charts below.
L SCUSH dead stop will occur about 5° beyond normal dead
stop point.

2 Measure from centerline of hinge/pivot and stick
template on door. Mark drilling holes.
L See Mounting Dimensions above as needed.

3 Remove template, and drill holes where marked with a
1/8" drill bit for SRT screws.
L SRT screws are used on metal doors.
Wood screws are used and recommended on wood doors.
Reduce installation torque if using SRT screws in wood.
4 Measure and determine your door's width. Use 5/32"
hex wrench to adjust the closer spring power. Use the
table below to determine number of turns required.
Turn counterclockwise for "-"; turn clockwise for "+"
L These turns are recommended, but may change due to
door weight and environmental conditions.
L Do not use power drill to adjust spring force! It may cause
damage and void the warranty.

5 Install closer onto door.

6 Adjust the shoe to match the door handing.
L If RH door, do not adjust shoe. If LH door, change stop
location to opposite side.
L For installing SCUSH Contact block, see page 3.
7 Install CUSH shoe & fifth hole spacer onto frame.
L Use the fifth hole spacer only if there is a space between
the frame and the shoe.
L Use of 5th Hole limited to reveals greater than 2 ZZ\zn".
8 Preload closer shaft to 20°, attach main arm to closer.
9 Adjust the closer, if necessary. See page 4 for closer
adjustment instructions.
10 Install cover.
