DESCRIPTION
Thank you for choosing this product. To get the best use from your machine please read the following carefully:
The calibrating static charge enables to set and check the manual arc welding machines.
The calibrating static charge is used to check arc welding machines settings in compliance with the directive IEC 60974-1
and EN 50504, I can be used for the following current levels:
• for MIG/MAG machines up to 320A
• for MMA machines up to 370A
• for TIG machines :
- up to 180A with a charge
- up to 370A with 2 resistive loads assembled in parallel
POWER SUPPLY – STARTING UP
• Plug the power supply cable with a plug suitable for your power supply if different from the european plug.
• The machine must be connected to a socket WITH earth 230V (50 – 60 Hz). The effective current absorbed
(I1eff) is 1.8 A maximal.
• Operate the switch on the front panel.
After a second, the fans start.
• The static charge is ready.
FUNCTIONS
• Check the welding generator to be tested is switched OFF.
• Make sure that the emergency stop button is pressed.
• Set all the static charge knobs to 0.
• Connect the welding cables to the generator and to the charge as explained (polarity is not important):
For electrode welding generators :
- plug the electrode holder and the earth clamp connected to the machine, to the connection pin.
- or use a cable with male/male Texas connector to plug to the charge
(Texas 50) and to the machine (Texas 25 or 50 in function of the machine).
For TIG generators :
- Use a cable with male/male texas connector to plug to the charge bench
and to the welder.
For MIG generators:
- Plug the earth clamp connected to the welding generator to the connec-
tion pin
- Use a Texas cable / clamp, to connect to the charge (Texas 50) and to the
contact tip (clamp).
• Based on the welder type (MIG, MMA or TIG) and current, define
resistances to switch according to the paragraph «Resistances definition».
• Adjust the knobs to achieve the charge indicated in the table.
• Switch on the fans (red light switch on the front panel).
• Supply the welding generator to test.
• Pull the emergency stop.
• Switch on the welding generator to be tested.
• Set the machine intensity with the knob or the digital controls.
• On a metric clampmeter, read the intensity circulating in the welding cables.
• Before disconnecting the cables from the charge, it is compulsory to set all the knobs to 0 and to check the
welding generator is switched off from its power source.
