AT5399 – DIGITAL BREATHALYSER
1. Introduction
Thank you for buying the AT5399 ! This device allows you to determine the alcohol content of
your blood. The measured result is displayed through LEDs.
Keep in mind that this product is not to be used as an official tool for determining whether or not
the test subject is legally able to operate a motor vehicle. We strongly advise any individual with
the intention to drive not to consume any alcohol whatsoever.
This device has been designed in accordance with EMC directive 89/336. Use this device as a
general indicator of the alcohol level in your blood. Do not use it to determine whether or not
you are fit to drive. Neither the manufacturer nor your supplier will accept any liability arising
from the use of this device.

3. Operating Instructions
1. Remove the cover of the battery compartment and insert 2 AAA alkaline batteries of 1.5V.
Replace the cover. Note that the batteries are NOT included.
2. Refrain from smoking or drinking for at least 20 minutes and rinse your mouth with water.
3. Activate the device with the ON/OFF button. The sensor needs ± 12 sec. to reach its
operating temperature. During this period, the bar indicator moves from left to right and back
again.
4. The device is ready when the yellow READY LED flashes and the device starts to beep
intermittently.
5. Hold the BLOW button and blow through the mouthpiece until the device beeps (after ± 5
seconds). The measuring result is displayed on the bar indicator. A result < 0.2‰ (LO) is
accompanied by a single beep.
6. Repeat steps 3 through 5 for a new test.
7. Press the
button (device will beep 1 x) to deactivate the AT5399.
8. You can also use a straw if you wish. Simply insert the straw in the mouthpiece and blow.
4. Automatic Sensor Cleaning
We recommend putting a few drops of wine in the cap when you first use this device or if it has
not been used for a week or longer. This will trigger the ASC function (Automatic Sensor
Cleaning).
