8.8 Bypass
Install a bypass in the outlet pipe if there is any risk that the pump
may operate against a closed valve in the outlet line. Flow
through the pump is required to ensure that adequate cooling and
lubrication of the pump is maintained. See
pressures
for minimum flow rates.
Elbows should be at least 12" from the bypass opening to prevent
erosion.
