01. GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS.
Dear Customer:
Thank you for purchasing this ELMA branded pro-
duct.
We hope that it will satisfy you for a long period
of time.
Please, read this instruction manual carefully
before plugging the appliance and keep it for
future reference. Failure to observe and comply
with these instructions may result in a accident.
Before its first use, clean all parts of the product
that may be in contact with food, proceeding as
indicated in the cleaning section.
• This appliance is designed for home or similar
quantities in non-industrial applications.
• The appliance is only suitable for cutting firm
foods, such as bread, sausage or semi-hard chee-
se. The cutting of other substances (e.g. wood) or
very hard foods (bone, deep-frozen food) is not
permitted.
• This appliance can be used by persons with re-
duced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or
lack of experience and/or knowledge if they have
been given supervision or instruction concerning
use of the appliance in a safe way and if they
understand the hazards involved. Keep children
away from the appliance and connecting cable
and do not allow them to use the appliance. Chil-
dren shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning
and user maintenance must not be performed by
children. Keep the appliance out of the reach of
children.
Warning
Risk of electric shock and fire
Only use the appliance indoors at room tempera-
ture. The appliance may only be connected
to a power supply with alternating current via a
correctly installed socket with earthing. Ensure
that the protective conductor system of the domes-
tic supply has been correctly installed. Connect
and operate the appliance only in accordance
with the specifications on the rating plate. Do
not use the appliance if the power cord and/or
appliance are damaged. Only our customer servi-
ce may repair the appliance, e.g. by replacing a
damaged power cord, in order to avoid hazards.

Never leave the appliance unattended while it is
switched on!
The mains lead must not come into contact with
hot parts or be pulled across sharp edges. Ne-
ver immerse the appliance in water or place it in
the dishwasher. Do not use the appliance near a
sink filled with water! Do not use the appliance
with damp hands and do not operate at no load.
After each use, whenever the appliance is unsu-
pervised, prior to assembly, prior to disassembly,
prior to cleaning and in the event of an error, the
appliance must always be disconnected from the
mains. Before replacing accessories or additional
parts, which move during operation, switch off the
appliance and disconnect from the power supply.
Warning
Risk of injury
The blade is very sharp. Keep hands clear of the
blade. After switching off, the drive continues
for a short time. Wait for the blade to come to a
standstill! After work, set cutting width to 0. This
appliance must be used with the sliding feed ta-
ble and the piece holder in position unless this
is not possible due to the size or shape of the
food. Before cleaning the appliance, pull out the
mains plug and remove the blade. Do not grip
the blade by the cutting surface, but by the blade
attachment.
Motor may overheat! After a maximum 10 minu-
tes of continuous use, switch OFF the appliance
and allow to cool down.
Risk of suffocation
Do not allow children to play with packaging ma-
terial.
