MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS

Except for the changing of the speech diaphragm (14) and the nut of the valve box (11), all maintenance operations can be performed without special tools.
Inhalation valve flap and connector gasket.
The inhalation valve flap (12) and the connector gasket (8) can be replaced by hand. Make sure that the valve (12) is correctly positioned.
Exhalation valve flap ("Negative pressure mask")
Take off the lid of the valve box and the old valve flap (13).
Insert the new valve flap (16) and make sure that it is clean (no dust).
Put lid back.
Inner mask.
Remove old inner mask.
Insert new inner mask, positioning its two holes Ø 27 into the grooves of the case.
Valve box and speech case.
Remove the inner mask (1).
Hold tight valve box (5) and speech case (6).
Unscrew nut (11) with the help of the SPERIAN key intended for this.
Remove old valve box (5) or speech case (6).
Position new valve box (5) or speech case (6) in the face blank and make sure that the faceblank rubber is correctly positioned.
Refasten nut (11) and put back inner mask (1).
Mask connector.
Cut the connector fixing ring (18) with a pair of pincers.
Change the connector (7) and make sure the face blank rubber is correctly positioned.
Tighten the new connector fixing ring (18) with SPERIAN pliers or possibly with a pair of nippers:
Visor.
Loosen the screws (3) which hold the visor clamps.
Slip visor (2) out of the mask by gently pulling away mask rubber ensuring the groove of the mask is clean.
Ease new visor (2) into groove and ensure it is correctly positioned all around.
Refit clamps, push firmly into position and secure clamp screws and nuts (3).
Speech diaphragm and O-ring seal.
Unscrew the speech case lid with the SPERIAN key.
Remove the speech diaphragm (14).
Change the O-ring seal (15) and lubricate with silicon grease.
Position the speech diaphragm (14) in the box and screw lid back on.
Head harness.
Pull front and side straps of head harness (4) free of the reels (17) while pushing the buckle clips forward.
Pull the straps of the new head harness (4) through the reels (17) which you find on the buckles.
