Fuse switch disconnectors
Instructions
Safety from finger-touch
See Technical data
Commissioning and maintenance by qualified persons only.
Follow the operating instructions!
Application
The fuse switch disconnectors are used for closing on and disconnection of rated
operating currents up to 160 A AC.
Installation
For dimension drawings see Fig. I (dimensions in mm).

h 3NP5065 with electronic fuse-failure monitoring (via EMDS module)
For permissible mounting positions see Fig. IIa.
Installation apertures and mounting holes:
- for panel mounting see Fig. IIb
- for front mounting with installation kit see Fig. IIc
Maintain clearances to earthed components.
For rear mounting see Fig. IIIb. Ensure that the surface is level!
Fix switch with 2 M5 screws (minimum length 12 mm);
always use plain and spring washers.
For mounting in metal switchpanels, the fuse switch disconnectors must be combined with
a moulded-plastic masking frame.
The cutout must not be smaller than specified.
Mounting with fixing plate see Fig. IV.
Fixing to busbar system (DIN 43 870 Part 2) see Fig. Va, b.

Connection of auxiliary circuit switch:
Push-on sleeve 6.3×2.5 mm or 6.3×1 mm to DIN 46 247
With control voltage >AC 25 V all
connections must be insulated.
Operation
Where the incoming feeder enters from below and the connection
angle is ≤ 30°, the contact elements of the fuse inserts are live!
Installation of fuse links for fuse switch disconnectors see Fig. VIII.
a version without fuse monitoring
Use fuse links with silver-plated blades or silver-plated disconnecting links only!
Press contact springs against fuse body see Fig. VIIIb, 2.
After installation, check that the arc chute fits firmly.
Hook fuse carrier on contact frame see Fig. IIIc 6, 7.
Maintenance
Grease the main contacts (with Shell Alvania RLQ2 or another high-grade aging-resistant
mineral-oil-based lithium-soap grease/worked penetration: 265 - 295, service temperature:
-30 to +120 °C), and grease the latching springs on the sides of the baseframe at the
pivoting points of the fuse carrier (e. g. with Molykote paste D), approx. every 6 months
according to switching rate.
For replacement of the arc chute see Fig. IIIa, 3 and IIIc, 5.
For replacement of the fuse link see Fig. VIIIa and b.

Internal power supply:
The electronic fuse-failure monitoring (EMDS) module operates only when power is
supplied from above. If no voltage is present at L1 and/or L2, there is no status indica-
tion. The switch disconnector can still be live. If no voltage is present at L3, the green
LED flashes.
