Function
Interface for connecting Blaupunkt car radios and navigation
systems to the Apple iPod.
Note:
The control functions for MP3 mode correspond to those descri-
bed in your car radio's operating instructions for CDC mode.
The CD-changer's disc change function corresponds to the
playlist change function.
Info:
1. Our iPod Interface is compatible with various Blaupunkt
aftermarket car stereos and navigation systems with a
jukebox connector starting with the 2004 model year.
The following cannot be connected: DX-R52, Chicago
IVDM-7002, -7003, Aspen IVDM-7003, Chicago IVDN-
7002,-7003, and Aspen IVDN-7003.
2. The TravelPilot DX-R70 / TravelPilot DX-R4 can be con-
nected by means of a software configuration of the in-
terface.
3. The interface ships with the „Basic-MD" version of the
software. This ensures that the following will be displa-
yed on the car stereo (depending on stereo and menu
settings) CD No., Track No., Time. on the iPod display:
Title, Artist, Track No., Playlist No.
Changing the audio level:

vice -> Software ->iPod.
4. To ensure display on the iPod display, users must create
their own playlists (1-999).
With the "Basic-MD" version of the software, it is pos-
sible to realize up to 999 playlists with up to 999 tracks
each.
Playlist no. 1 automatically files all of the tracks existing
on the iPod (iPod function).
Safety notices
Please read the following notes carefully before connecting
your interface.
The battery's negative terminal must be discon-
nected while the assembly and connecting work
is being carried out.
The vehicle manufacturer's safety notes (regar-
ding the airbag, alarm equipment, on-board computer, im-
mobilizer and so forth) must be observed.
Installation note
Connect the connecting cable to the C3 terminal area
(see Fig. 1).
Use the radio's or navigation system's installation instruc-
tions to check how the contacts are assigned before instal-
ling.
If necessary, plug in cables or reconnect them elsewhere
as needed.
Blaupunkt can accept no liability for faults resulting from
inadequate examination of the connection method or pin
assignment.
Road safety
Road safety has utmost priority.
You should therefore always use your car radio equipment
in such a way that you remain alert to the current traffic si-
tuation.Remember that if you are moving at 31 mph, then
you will cover 46 feet in one second.
We advise against making any adjustments in critical situ-
ations. It must be possible to hear warning signals from,
for instance, police or fire service vehicles promptly from
within the vehicle.
You must therefore only listen at a suitable volume when
travelling.
