Insert a new battery. Make sure the - and the + poles of the new battery are pointing in the
right direction.
Note:   We advise you to use a 1.5V alkaline button battery,   type LR54.

To close the battery compartment, put back the cover and turn it to the right with a
screwdriver.

If the appliance does not work or does not work properly, first check the list below. If the problem
is not mentioned in this list, the appliance probably has a defect. In that case we advise you to
contact the Philips Consumer Care Centre.
Problem
The appliance
does not go on.
Cause
The plug may not be
inserted properly into
the wall socket.
There may be a power
failure.
The lamp may be
defective.
The mains cord of the
appliance may be
damaged.
Solution
Insert the plug properly into the wall socket.
Check if the power supply works by connecting
another appliance.
Contact the Philips Consumer Care Centre.
Check the mains cord. If the mains cord is
damaged, you must have it replaced by Philips or
similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a
hazard.
