1. GENERAL REMARKS

Thank you for placing your confi dence in S&P by
buying this product. It has been manufactured
following current technical safety regulations in
accordance with EC standards. Please read this
instruction booklet carefully before installing and
starting up the product. It contains important in-
formation on personal and user safety measures
to be followed while installing, using and carrying
out maintenance work on the equipment. Once the
product has been installed, please hand in this
booklet to the end user. Check that the applian-
ce is in perfect condition while unpacking. Any
fault or damage caused in origin is covered by the
S&P guarantee. Ensure that all the values of main
supply are compatible with those indicated on the
rating plate.

1.1. IMPORTANT RECOMMENDATIONS

• We recommend you check the state of the devi-
ce and that it works as soon as you take it out of
the packaging. Check that the product is the one
you ordered and that the data on the data sheet
are in line with your requirements.
• It must be installed in accordance with the regu-
lations in force in each country.
• If the product works as an extractor in a room in
which a boiler or other type of system needing
air for its combustion system is installed, check
that the room's air intake is of the correct size.
• The extractor's exhaust cannot be connected
to a pipe used to discharge fumes from devices
powered by gas or other fuels.
• This product can be used by children over 8
years of age and by persons with reduced physi-
cal, sensory or mental capabilities or who lack
experience and knowledge in use of the product,
provided they have been supervised and appro-
priately trained in how to use the device safely
and understand the risks it entails.
• Children must not play with this device.
• Cleaning and maintenance by the user must not
be done by unsupervised children.
• Do not put any objects through the protective
grille.
• Do not remove the front mesh when the extrac-
tor is working. The extractor must always work
with the front mesh correctly mounted.

1.2. USAGE
The PULSE 160 is suitable for use in the contro-
lled ventilation of residential buildings. PULSE
160 usage is authorized solely in accordance with
the described use cases and only in association
with components recommended by S&P SISTE-
MAS DE VENTILACIÓN S.L.U. and listed in this
document. Other PULSE 160 usages are not per-
mitted. The system is unsuitable for extracting
smoke or drying buildings, for rooms containing
aggressive and/or caustic gases or extreme le-
vels of dust.
To guarantee the fault-free and safe use of the
system, it is vital to ensure appropriate transport
and storage, professional planning and insta-
llation, as well as proper operation and mainte-
nance. Modifi cations and reconfi gurations of the
unit / system are not permitted. Before starting
installation, the project needs to have been plan-
ned properly, detailing the number and positio-
ning of the ventilation units and their associated
controls, and the ventilation principle applied
(cross-ventilation, single room ventilation, air
extraction).
During planning, installation and operation, all re-
levant requirements, building and fi re protection
regulations and accident prevention regulations
are to be complied with. In the planning phase, de-
tails need to be checked with the respective chim-
ney sweep or ventilation expert.

1.3. SAFETY INFORMATION

Attention is to be paid to the safety information
contained in these instructions for installing and
operating the control unit. Before any work is
carried out on the unit / system, the instructions
and safety information are to be read carefully in
full. Noncompliance with the safety information
can lead to harm/damage to persons and/or equi-
pment.
Assembly, electrical installation and system
start-up should only be performed by skilled
persons. These are people with relevant safety
training and qualifi ed to install, commission and
label equipment, systems and cabling in accor-
dance with current safety standards.
