The nebuliser system is not suitable for patients who have undergone
a tracheostomy. Patients who have undergone a tracheostomy
breathe through a surgical opening in the windpipe (tracheostoma). It
is not possible to assure effective treatment for this clinical picture
with this equipment.
The nebuliser equipment is suitable for use by children aged three
and older up to adult. The nebuliser system can be used for inhalation
treatment of the lower respiratory tract (bronchi) if the patient uses
the mouthpiece, breathing in through the mouth and out through the
nose. The mask should only be used for treatment of the lower res-
piratory tract in exceptional circumstances. In this case, the patient
must be sure to breathe in through the mouth.
The nebuliser system can be used for inhalation treatment of the
upper respiratory tract if the patient is a child using the accompany-
ing child mask and breathing in and out through the nose. Adults use
the nasal joining piece, breathing in through the nose and out
through the mouth.
Inhalation treatment for babies: In order to ensure efficient inhala-
tion treatment for the lower respiratory tract in babies (up to age
three), you need a special baby nebuliser. In this case, contact the
manufacturer (for address see the back of the instructions for use).
