6120
The instruction manual is downloadable from
the site www.vimar.com
DESCRIPTION
Type 6120 is a device that can be used in those
cases in which you want to make an ELVOX
TWO-WIRE door entry or video door entry sys-
tem function remote-controlled (e.g. opening the
lock or outside door call). It is installed along the
bus line of an ELVOX TWO-WIRE system.
Module type 6120 receives the command from
two N/O push-buttons (connected to terminals
IN1 and IN2 shown in Fig. 1) and when closing,
they send the ID code assigned to them.
Up to eight type 6120 devices with different ID
codes can be installed in the same system, or
more than eight with ID = 0. The ID code is in-
dispensable for the programming phases, so it is
necessary to identify each device with its own ID
during this step. When there are more than eight
type 6120 devices, assign ID0 to the type 6120
devices not to be programmed, and ID1 to ID7
for the devices to be programmed.
If used in a monitor or mixed system, the ABC
connector lets you make the termination of the
bus for adapting the video signal using the spe-
cial jumper.
The bus connects to the B1 and B2 terminals.

OPERATION
Attention: in order for the push-button mod-
ule to work correctly in 100% of the cases,
all of the devices (door entry systems, video
door entry systems, entrance panels) must
be updated to software version 4 or higher.
Otherwise, some functions could be limited.
The programming is based on the combined use
of a push-button inside the printed circuit indi-
cated by the symbol
, a LED (D3) and two
external push-buttons (to be connected to the IN1
and IN2 terminals).
When starting, the LED flashes for 2 seconds with
400-ms cycle as a check that the device has been
programmed with the correct Firmware, then it
turns off. The LED flashes for 100 ms also with
every data packet travelling through the bus to
which it is connected.
ID
Correspondence between the position of the
dip switch 123 and the ID used in the ELVOX
TWO-WIRE system is shown in the following
table. OFF means that the dip-switch is moved
downward, towards the exterior of the container.

PROGRAMMING
To program a push-button not using the program-
mer or similar device, follow these directions:
• Keep the push-button pressed
• Press the push-button to be programmed
(push-button connected to IN1 or IN2)
• The raised hook devices emit a rising three-
tone scale in the load speaker
• The D3 LED starts to flash with a 200-ms cycle
if the push-button connected to IN1 is pressed,
and with a 600-ms cycle if the push-button con-
nected to IN2 is pressed
• Release all of the push-buttons
• From this very moment you have 30 seconds
to complete programming
- To return to the default setting (i.e. no associ-
ation), press the same push-button again. The
LED flashes for 2 seconds with a 100-ms cycle
- To associate a lock opening with the
push-button, make a call from the entry panel
involved to any extension, even one that does
not exist
- To use as door call function with one or
more (video) door entry systems without re-
quiring direct connections between push-but-
tons and devices, press any push-button on the
device Head-group, which executes the lock
command function or call to the switchboard,
function F1 or F2 or command to an actuator
(e.g. stairway light).
• When the command is received, the LED stays
on steady for 2 seconds, then turns off.
• To cancel the entire programming procedure,
press
again. The LED flashes for 2 sec-
onds with a 100-ms cycle.
PROGRAMMING WITH PROGRAMMER
It is possible to configure the push-buttons both
with the programmer type 950C and with the
SaveProg software for PC. With these instru-
ments, the two push-buttons can be programmed
even for operating an actuator or for controlling
outputs F1 or F2 of a specific panel (if equipped
with one). Note that for the first four push-button
IDs, F1 and F2 are of panels 1..8. For the second
set of four IDs, they are of panels 9..15.
Please note that the first push-button corre-
sponds to P5, the second to P6.
Installation rules
Installation should be carried out by qualified
personnel in compliance with the current
regulations regarding the installation of electrical
equipment in the country where the products
are installed.

environmentally friendly disposal of the used
device, or its subsequent recycling, helps avoid
the potential negative effects on the environment
