Important Notes
Read installation instructions before starting work.
The electrical installation kit may only be installed by a qualified specialist.
Follow guidance in the current repair manual when carrying out installation work on the vehicle.
Caution - disconnect battery!
Damage to vehicle electronics and loss of electronically stored data may occur.
Read out fault memory before starting work.
Note
Please note the following points when fitting:
•
Cables must not become trapped or damaged.
•
All sealing elements must be correctly fitted.
•
The socket seal must be positioned on the insulation tube and not on the individual wires.
•
Route the cables so that they do not rub against the vehicle or become kinked.
•
Do not route cables in the direct vicinity of the exhaust system.
The additional warning lamp (C2) for checking the turn signal indicator on the trailer is already
factory-fitted and accordingly pre-assembled.
The rear fog lamp of the towing vehicle is switched off during trailer operation.
Trailers without rear fog lamp must be retrofitted with these.
A socket adapter may only be used during trailer operation. Remove the socket adapter after
trailer operation.
Carry out a check of the trailer functions using a trailer or test equipment with load resistors.
