3.4 Installation
How the sensors and actuators are connected to the ana
logue I/O module depends on the connection block used.
Note
When connecting sensors and actuators, observe the
instructions in the description of the CPX analogue I/O
module (P.BE−CPX−AX−...).
To transmit analogue signals, use shielded cable only.
Caution
Long signal cables reduce resistance to interference.
Comply with the maximum permissible I/O signal cable
length:
CPX−2AE−U−I, 2AA−U−I, 4AE−I: 30 m
CPX−4AE−T: 10 m (with measurement error max. 200 m)
CPX−4AE−TC: 10 m (with measurement error max. 50 m)
The accuracy of measurement of the CPX−4AE−T and
4AE−TC modules decreases after a 10 m cable
length. This measurement error cannot be compen
sated for.
Screening
When connecting the cable screening, the following vari
ants are permissible:
Screened connection to the FE pin of the I/O plug with
out connection to additional potential,
External FE connection without connection to the FE
pin of the I/O plug.
Recommendation: Connect the cable shield to both sides
of the FE with sufficient equipotential bonding. If the cable
screen is connected to one side of the FE, it should be con
nected to the "signal receiver" side.
