Installing the PicoScope software and manual

1) D o n ot con n e ct t h e oscilloscope t o t h e PC ye t !
2) I nser t t he Pico CD int o your CD- ROM dr ive. I t
should st art aut om at ically. ( I f it does not ,
follow t he st eps on t he right .)
3) Click t he " I nst all Soft ware" but t on.
4) Follow t he inst ruct ions on t he screen t o inst all
PicoScope 6.
5) I f an AC adapt er is supplied wit h t he
oscilloscope, fit t he appropriat e plug or cable
t o t he adapt or and plug t he adapt or int o t he
AC supply. Plug DC t he lead from t he adapt er
int o t he back of t he oscilloscope. Sw it ch on t he AC pow er.
6) Connect t he PC Oscilloscope t o t he PC ( see connect ion drawing below ) .
I gnore any warnings t hat appear such as " This device can perform fast er"
or " USB2 dev ice connect ed t o USB1 hub" .
7) The " New Hardware Found Wizard" will run. Follow t he inst ruct ions, and if
t he w izard ask s t o connect t o Windows Updat e, select " No" . I f a warning
about Windows Logo t est ing appears, click " Cont inue Anyw ay" .
8) Wit h som e product s, t he " New Hardware Found Wizard" w ill run t w ice. I f
t his happens, r epeat t he previous st ep.
9) Click t he Windows St ar t but t on, go t o " Program s" and t hen " Pico
Technology" , t hen select " PicoScope" t o begin using t he PC Oscilloscope.
10) I f an oscilloscope probe is connect ed t o t he oscilloscope, y ou should see a
sm all 50 Hz or 60 Hz signal in t he oscilloscope window when you t ouch
t he probe t ip w it h your finger.
