Introduction

Thank you for purchasing a Pico Technology USB Oscilloscope.
This guide explains how t o inst all t he soft war e, including t he product m anual,
from t he CD- ROM supplied.
Once you have finished t he inst allat ion, you will find t hat t he product m anual
cont ains m uch m ore inform at ion about set t ing up and using t he product and
it s soft war e. The m anual is inst alled in elect ronic form at , but you can also
print a paper copy from t he PDF file on t he CD- ROM.

We st rongly recom m end t hat you read t he general safet y inform at ion below
and also t he product - specific safet y w arning in t he product m anual before
using your product for t he first t im e. I f you do not use t he equipm ent in t he
m anner specified, t hen you m ay im pair t he prot ect ion provided. This could
result in dam age t o your com put er or inj ury t o yourself or ot her s.
The product m anual is inst alled on your com put er when y ou inst all t he
supplied soft w are.
Maximum input range
You can find t he m ax im um input range and, where applicable, overload
prot ect ion range in t he product m anual inst alled on your com put er . Alw ays
operat e t he product w it hin t he specified input range. Oper at ion out side t he
range of t he overload prot ect ion is likely t o cause per m anent dam age t o t he
unit . I ncorrect configurat ion or use on volt ages out side t he m axim um input
range can be hazardous.
Mains voltages
Pico product s are not designed for use wit h m ains volt ages. To m easur e
m ains, we recom m end t he use of a different ial isolat ing pr obe such as t he
Pico Technology TA041, which is specifically designed for high- volt age
m easurem ent s.
Repairs
The unit cont ains no user - ser viceable part s. Repair or
calibrat ion of t he unit requires specialised t est equipm ent and
m ust be perform ed by Pico Technology or it s aut horised
dist ribut ors.
