Field of application
AL-KO ball-type coupling drawbars are to be used
with trailer balls Ø50 as per guideline 94/20 EC.
AL-KO ball-type coupling drawbars are tested and
approved in accordance with 94/ EC.
The clearances are adhered to in accordance with DIN
74070, construction area A and B.
Safety Information
• After each coupling check the correct seat of the
ball-type coupling on the ball on the towing vehicle.
If correct coupling does not take place then the
6
trailer can remove itself from the towing vehicle and
there is danger of an accident!
• Swivel range from vertical ± 25° and horizontal ±
20° (Fig. 1). If this is exceeded the components will
be overloaded. Function is no longer ensured!
Fitting onto the overrun device
Shock absorber hung in on the fixing bolt
Note: For models: 60S/2; 90S/3; 161S; 251S;
2,8VB/1; 150 V; 200V; 131R;
161R; 251R
Before you begin dismantling the ball-type coupling
drawbar, please note the following:
The shock absorber is hung in on the fixing bolt on
the above-mentioned models (Fig 2/Item2).
The shock absorber moves out by itself. A fitting bolt
Ø10 is included in the box for easier assembly.
Slacken and remove self-locking nuts of the
hexagonal screws (Fig. 2/Item 2 and 4).
Pull out hexagonal bolt (Fig 2/Item 4).
Punch in hexagonal bolt (Fig 2/Item2) using the
fitting bolt (Fig 2 / Item1). Leave bolts for centring the
shock absorber in the draw bar tube.
Push ball type coupling onto the drawbar so that the
fastening drill holes match with one another.
Put distance bush in place.
Punch the fitting bolt through using the hexagonal
bolt M12x75/80 (Fig 2/Item 2), (shock absorber is
threaded in place).
Insert the second hexagonal screw M12 x75/80 (Fig
2/Item 4).
ATTENTION: To ensure that the shock absorber is
threaded on, push the draw bar in and out. If
resistance can be felt, the shock absorber is hung in
position.
Screw self-locking hexagonal nuts (use new nuts) on
the screws and tighten using tightening moment (see
table).
Note: Where there is a cross union a profile disk (Fig
3 / Item1) must be included with the vertical screw.
ATTENTION: Self-locking nuts may only be used
once!
