6.3 Filling the Micro
Sandblasting Tanks
Never activate the foot switch while fi lling
the tanks.
Regardless of the pressure indicated on the
manometer, the micro sandblasting tanks
are only under pressure if the foot switch is
activated.
1. Unscrew the tank cover (Figure 21).
2. Add abrasive only to the max. fi ll mark (the point
at which the tank jacket thickens below the cover
thread) (Figure 22).
3. Reinstall the tank cover (Figure 21).
Before closing the tank, always clean any
abrasive residue from the threads on the
cover and on the tank.
Do not misalign the cover.
Use only clean, dry abrasive with the appro-
priate grain size (refer to the accessories
list).
6.4 Connecting Additional
Compressed Air Devices
Additional compressed air devices such as the basic
mobil (No. 2914-xxxx) or
mobil
mobil (No. 2914-xxxx) or
are connected to the back of the Vario basic
(Figure 24, Section 6.2, Figure 20).
The connected device's compressed air hose can be
inserted through the socket on the side (Figure 23).

7. Cleaning / Maintenance
Always disconnect the unit from the
mains power and compressed air sup-
plies prior to performing any cleaning
and maintenance tasks.
7.1 Cleaning the Interior
• Use only solvent-free cleansers (e.g., soapy
water).
• Remove the base grate (Figure 5) and vacuum
out the blasting chamber.
• Using a dry, lint-free cloth, wipe out the insides of
the tanks and the tank covers!
7.2 Inspecting the Water
Separator
• Drain any condensation water through the outlet
valve.
• Press up on the valve from below (Figure 25).

7.3 Blasting Nozzle
Replacement
• Loosen the setscrew (Figure 26) >>> Allen key
included in the accessories kit.
• Pull the nozzle out (Figure 27).
• Inspect the mixing chamber for wear and remove
any abrasive residue (Figure 28).
• Insert the new nozzle (Figure 27).
• Retighten the setscrew (Figure 26).
7.4 Changing the Abrasive
• Pull the unit out over the edge of the table
(Figure 29).
Tipping hazard!
A second individual should help steady the
unit.
• Position the container to catch the used abrasive
(Figure 30).
• Open the abrasive drain hole (Figure 31).
• Clean / and re-secure the fi lter
(Figure 32 / Figure 7).
• Close the abrasive drain hole (Figure 31).
• Add new abrasive (Figure 10).
7.5 Replacing the Viewing
Pane
• Loosen the retaining screws (Figure 33).
• Remove the old pane and install the new one
(Figure 34).
• Carefully retighten the retaining screws
(Figure 33).
7.6 Replacing the Blasting
Hoses
Regularly inspect the blasting hoses for damage and
wear. Replace damaged hoses immediately.
Disconnect the sandblasting unit from the
compressed air supply when replacing the
blasting hoses (Figure 3).
• Drain the abrasive out of the unit
(refer to Section 7.4).
• Loosen the hose clamp and pull the hose off the
connector (Figure 35, 36, 37).
• Install new hoses (Figure 35, 36, 37).
Use only Renfert OEM replacement hoses!
7.7 Replacing the Fluorescent
Lamp
Disconnect the unit from the mains power
supply before changing the fl uorescent
lamp (Figure 15)!
Never press on or bend the lamp body du-
ring replacement (breakage risk). If neces-
sary, wear gloves or use a cloth.
