PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION

The MAREA stove is pellet-fi red with electronically control-
led combustion.
The combustible material (pellets) is transferred from the storage
hopper (A) to the combustion chamber (D) by means of a feed
screw (B), which is driven by a gear motor (C).
The pellets are ignited by the air that is heated by an electrical
resistance (E) and drawn into the combustion chamber by a
centrifugal fan (F).
The fumes produced during the combustion process are extracted
from the hearth by the same centrifugal fan (F) and evacuated
through the outlet (G) found on the lower part at the back of the
stove.
The ashes fall into the removable ash pan found beneath the
combustion chamber.
Air is blown into the hollow space at the back of the hearth by
means of a fan (H), where it is heated before being radiated into
the room through the front grille (I).
The amount of combustible material used and fume
extraction/combustion air supply are controlled by an electronic
control board in order to achieve high combustion efficiency.
The electronic control board guarantees an effective combustion
process as it self-adjusts according to the operating parameters.
A synoptic panel (L) is installed on the back part of the stove,
through which all phases of operation can be displayed and
controlled. The same functions can be controlled by remote control.
There is a tray on the top front part of the stove into which you
can pour water or scented liquids.
The internal structure of the stove is made completely of cast
iron.
A serial port is found at the back of the stove (optional cable:
code 621240) to be connected to devices that allow remote
ignition (e.g. remote telephone, local thermostat).
The external covering is available in the following colours
and materials:
- scheet steel side panel grey, black, wine-red, terracotta.
- side panel soapstone.
NOTES on fuel.
The MAREA pellet stove is designed and programmed to burn wood pellets with 6 mm diameter.
Pellets are small cylinders about 6 mm in diameter made from sawdust or shredded waste wood, pressed at high pressure
without the addition of adhesives or other foreign material.
To prevent damage to the stoves, do NOT burn any other substances. The use of other materials (including wood), which
can be detected by laboratory analysis, invalidates the guarantee.
Edilkamin has designed, tested and programmed its stoves to perform best with pellets with the following characteristics:
• diameter: 6 - 7 millimetres
• maximum length: 40 mm
• maximum moisture content: 8 %
• heat output: at least 4,300 kcal/kg
If different types of pellets are to be used the stove must be reset, following the same procedure carried out by the DEALER,
for the fi rst ignition.
The use of unsuitable pellets can lead to: decreased performance, operating anomalies, stoppages due to clogging, dirty glass,
unburnt fuel, etc.
The pellets can be analysed by visual examination.
Good quality: smooth, even lengths, not very dusty.
Poor quality: with horizontal and vertical splits, very dusty, variable lengths and mixed with foreign matter.
