Recommendations
As with all dental procedures, use standard personal protection
equipment (i.e., wear face mask, eyewear, or face shield, gloves and
protective gown).
Section 7: Installation Instructions
7.1
General Information
• The DualSelect
Dispensing System requires connection to the

office air supply and can be connected to the external dental
office water supply lines.
• If the installation of your DualSelect
is performed by someone other than an authorized DENTSPLY
representative, care should be taken to
observe the following requirements and recommendations.

7.3
Water Line Requirements &
Recommendations
• Incoming dental office water line pressure to the system must
be between 25 psi (172 kPa) and 60 psi (414 kPa). If water line
pressure is above 60 psi (414 kPa), a water pressure regulator
should be installed.
• Close the manual shut-off valve on the dental water system
supply line when the office is unoccupied.
• A filter can be installed in the dental water system supply line
to prevent any particles in the water supply from reaching the
system.

6.3
Water Supply Recommendations
The DualSelect Dispensing System, as a part of any dental water
delivery system, must be properly installed and maintained in
accordance with Installation Instructions (Section 7) and System
Care (Section 11) and the Infection Control Reference Card
enclosed separately, and in accordance with any applicable water
quality guidelines and regulations. It is highly recommended
that all dental water supply systems conform to applicable
CDC (Center for Disease Control) and ADA (American Dental
Association) standards, and that all recommendations be
followed in terms of flushing, chemical flushing and general
infection control procedures. Refer to Section 7.3 and 11. It is
the practitioner's responsibilty to be aware of and comply with
guidelines and regulations (i.e. CDC, ADA, and EN 1717) for
water quality that may be applicable.
• All lines should be thoroughly flushed prior to connection to the
DualSelect
System. [See section 11: System Care]

7.4
Water Supply Connection
to the System
• Flush incoming water line free of contaminants.
• Shut the manual shut-off valve on the external
water supply line.
• Connect the DualSelect
water line (blue) to the external

office water source line.
• Open the manual shut-off valve on the external water supply
line, and inspect all connections for leaks.
NOTE: For closed line option, remove DualSelect
line completely.
7.5
System Set-Up
• The system should be placed on a stable surface, or set on top
of a Cavitron SPS
Ultrasonic Scaler or Cavitron JET SPS
™
Combination System.
• Ensure ultrasonic scaler unit is off.
• Close shield and place selector knob on the "Open • H
position.
• Connect office air and water lines to appropriate air and water
inputs on the DualSelect
Dispensing System. (See note)

• Connect ultrasonic scaler/JET air line (if applicable) and water
line to the DualSelect
air and water output lines.
