Maintenance unit and air purity
during operation
The Jäger spindle is equipped with a sealing-air
feature. This sealing air prevents shavings/chips
and dust from entering the spindle. The service
unit filters possible contamination in the sealing
air and thus prevents costly machine damage.
For operation, the compressed air must fulfil the
following minimum requirements:
_ Flow rate: 200 l/min
_ Pressure: 6 – 8 bar
Requirements on air purity:
_ Solid contaminants:
Class 3; even better 5 μm for solids
_ Water content:
Class 4; Max. pressure dew point +3°C
_ Total oil content:
Class 3; Max. oil content 1 mg/m
In continuous operation, the pressure and the air-
flow rate are monitored by the milling machine.
When the required values are fallen below, the
milling program stops. Once the correct air values
are available again, the milling program can be
continued after fault acknowledgement in the
software.

When another extraction system than the
Ceramill Airstream is to be used, it must meet the
following requirements:
_ Extraction capacity: 240 m
_ Suitability for zirconium-oxide dusts
_ HEPA microfilter (97.97 %), filter class H12,
dust category M
The connection of the extraction hose to the
machine is made with an adapter (in delivery
scope). The adapter fits extraction hoses with a
38 mm interior diameter.
Danger from inhalation of respirable milling
waste!
▷ Use only tested HEPA microfilters of filter
