Using a flight simulator
Many manufacturers of flight simulators offer interface
leads which can be used to connect MULTIPLEX
transmitters directly to a PC. The MULTIPLEX inter-
face leads (# 8 5148 or # 8 5156) are not designed for
use with simulators.
The free Flying Model Simulator (FMS) can be used
with our USB simulator interface, # 8 5153. It can be
downloaded at no charge from our website www.multi-
plex-rc.de.
If you have further queries regarding the use of the

transmitter with other flight simulators,
please contact the simulator manufacturer.

Error messages
Every time you switch the transmitter on, the ROYAL
pro
checks the content of its memory. If it detects an
error, the following error message appears:
Memory Error
If this should occur, please note that the transmitter
must not be used again, and no changes should be
made to settings.
The PC back-up and update program ROYAL
DataManager (
20.3.) can be used to correct data
errors. This is accomplished by reading out the trans-
mitter data using the ROYAL
then transferring the data back into the transmitter
again.
If the error message recurs after this procedure, a se-
rious data error is present. The cause is often a hard-
ware defect (possibly caused by failure to observe the
transmitter battery charging instructions, or by using
an unsuitable or faulty battery charger). In this case
the transmitter must be sent to a MULTIPLEX Service
Centre for checking and repair.

HFM-S M-PCM/PPM
Synthesizer RF module
# 4 5600
# 4 5601
RF module exploiting the latest Synthesizer technology.
The transmission channel can be selected quickly and
coveniently using the Channel Set menu. No trans-
mitter crystals are required.
Important: which channels may be used?
The national regulations regarding the operation of
radio-controlled models vary from country to country.
Before you use the RF module, it is important to deter-
mine which channels are approved for use in the re-
gion where you wish to fly the model.

Scanner for HFM-S M-PCM/
PPM Synthesizer RF module
# 4 5178
# 4 5179
The scanner is used to monitor the frequency band
and to guard against channel clashes (two transmit-
ters on one frequency). The Scanner module is simply
plugged into the HFM-S M-PCM/PPM Synthesizer RF
module, and is easy to install at any time.
The Scanner can carry out two tasks:
Checking the channel when you switch on
(Channel-Check):
When you switch on, the Scanner checks the channel
selected for the Synthesizer. If your channel is already
in use, the transmitter does not start transmitting; a
warning message is displayed to alert you to the situa-
tion. If the Scanner picks up no signal during the
check, the transmitter switches to normal operation:
Scanning the whole frequency band:
All channels on the frequency band are interrogated in
turn. All signals present are displayed in bar-form on
the screen; the height of the bar reflects the strength
of the signal:
Detailed instructions on using the Scanner module
with the HFM-S M-PCM/PPM Synthesizer RF module
are supplied with the Scanner module.
