6. Clearance
– LSEA: Elastic webbing lanyard with shock absorber: Max. length = 1.80m, including connectors.
– Other lanyards with shock absorber: Max. length = 2.00 m, including connectors.
Clearance T is the unrestricted area beneath the operator's feet. It is defined as follows:
Maximum load operator
"Length of lanyard L"
+ equipment
≤ 100 kg
≤ 150 kg
Maximum load operator
"Length of lanyard L"
+ equipment
≤ 100 kg
≤ 150 kg
If the webbing lanyard with shock absorber is connected
to a Class C EN 795 lifeline, it is essential that you add
to the clearance (values below) the maximum deflection
set out in the user manual from the anchor point.

7. Prohibited use

It is strictly forbidden:
• to install or use the lanyard with shock absorber
without first having been authorised, trained and
recognised to be qualified in the use of the device,
or otherwise, without the supervision of an authorised

of the device.
• to use the lanyard with shock absorber if any of the
markings are not legible.
• to install or use the lanyard with shock absorber
without first having carried out the preliminary checks.
• to use a lanyard with shock absorber which has not
been covered by a periodic inspection over the past
12 months by a technician having authorised re-use
in writing.
• to connect the lanyard with shock absorber to a point
which has not been covered by a periodic inspection

• to use the lanyard shock absorber for any other
application than to protect operator from falling.
• to fix the lanyard with shock absorber other than by
its anchor point.

whose weight, equipment included, is greater than

of between 100 kg and 150 kg (total weight of the
operator, equipment and tools) if any component in
the fall-arrest system has a lower maximum load.
• to use the lanyard with shock absorber if it has been
involved in a fall.
• to use the lanyard with shock absorber as a means of
suspension or to hold a work position.
• to use the lanyard with shock absorber in a highly
