Bathing and swimming
After the transmitter and sensor are connected, they form a waterproof seal to a
depth of 2.4 meters (eight feet) for up to 30 minutes. You can shower and swim
without removing them. No occlusive dressing is needed.
Watertight tester
The tester is used to test the transmitter to make sure it is working. It is also used as
a required component for cleaning the transmitter. Properly connecting the tester to
the transmitter will ensure that fluids do not come in contact with the transmitter's
connector pins. Fluids can cause connector pins to corrode and affect the
transmitter's performance.
Each tester can be used a total of 30 times. Open and use one tester at a time. Keep
track of the tester uses on the supplied log sheet and discard the tester after 30 uses
in a bio-waste container. If you continue to use the tester beyond 30 times, the
transmitter's connector pins could be damaged, because the tester cannot continue
to provide a waterproof seal. For instructions on how to check the connector pins,
see Inspecting the transmitter connector pins, on page 7.
Caution:
Inspecting the transmitter connector pins
This image is an example of how the connector pins should look.
Only use the watertight tester with the transmitter. Do not use any
other test plug.
