duction reasons, therefore use
protective gloves. Do not carry
the meter by the cables.
The maximum heating water tem-
perature at the flow sensor may not
exceed 90ºC. For heating systems
with a lack of temperature mixing
resp. with temperature stratification
a straight pipeline of min. 10xDN has
to be provided upstream of the me-
ter. It is important to ensure adequa-
te system pressure to avoid cavita-
tion. To mount the heat computer of
the C5-CMF in combi version on the
wall, the supplied mounting adapter
has to be used.
The revision of the approval can be
identified clearly in the display menu
(Level 3). ZENNER recommends
to use direct temperature measure-
ment and not to use immersion slee-
ves (sensor pockets).
The measuring capsule flow sensor
CMF is only allowed to be used with
the connection interface according
to DIN EN 14154-2 respectively DIN
EN ISO 4064-4 which are specified in
the technical data. The use of transi-
tion pieces or adapters inserts is not
permitted (in the case of refrigeration
and combined heat / cold metering
devices, the cash registers are not
calibrated and may not be used for
billing purposes in commercial tran-
sactions. For this purpose, devices
with a separate type-examination
certificate are currently required).
Installation of the flow sensor
(VMT)
■
Mount
ball
downstream of the connection in-
terface (flow sensor).
■
Consider the correct installation
point (supply or return). Normally
this is in the return pipe (cooler
pipe at heating systems). Please
note the type plate information.
■
Consider the correct flow direc-
tion. This is indicated by an arrow
on the side of the VMT. – At type
A1, the arrow is at the bottom of
the measuring capsule.
■
The use of flow direction conver-
ters is not permitted!
■
Install horizontally or vertically
only, not tilted, inclined or over-
head. Installation into horizontal
or upstreaming or downstreaming
pipelines.
■
Do not install at highest point of
piping to avoid air inside the flow
sensor.
Consider the dimensions of the heat
meter. Axial distance between two
flow sensors at least 135mm.
Notes ball valves
■
Mount
ball
downstream of the flow sensor.
■
Mount a ball valve with bore
M10x1 for direct sensors in the
supply. This is required for the in-
stallation of the supply sensor (for
type A1 a special ball valve with
temperature sensor connection
is required with external thread
M12x1,5.)
