Use with Ø 16 mm (5/8") and 22 mm (7/8") cables.
Place the machine 60 cm from the opening of the pipe. If it is not possible to put it as
near as this, thread the cable through a metal tube to prevent the cable whipping.
Fix the rear guide tube using the knurled screw.
Slide the cable through, with the male connector first, to the front of the machine.
Never use several cables at once.
Fix a tool to the end of the cable. Start with small knives to free up the pipe. When the
pipe is freed up, continue with larger blades which scrape the walls of the pipes, to
ensure perfect cleaning.
Note:
To fix a tool to Ø 16 mm (5/8") or Ø 22 mm (7/8") cables, slide the slit of the tool on to the
male part of the cable until the bolt locks. To remove the knife, use the assembly key
(293118 for Ø 16 mm cable and 293125 for Ø 22 mm cable). Remove the bolt and then let
the cable slide through to separate them. Cables are assembled and separated in the same
way.
Push the cable as far as possible into the drainage pipe; pull approximately 30 cm of
machine cable so as to form an arc.
Position the switch in the forward operation position. The motor starts to operate.
After putting on protective gloves, put your hand on the cable and then, with your
other, free hand, lower the engagement lever. The cable penetrates into the pipe.
Guide the cable into the pipe by applying a firm and constant pressure; do not force
the cable: you would not clear the pipe any quicker and you could damage the cable.
If there is too much cable between the machine and the pipe the cable can whip and
become tangled.
When the slack of the cable has disappeared, release the lever and pull out again
approximately 30 cm of the machine's cable. Lower the lever again and continue to
advance the cable
When you have come to the end of the cable section, assemble another section and
continue the operation.
When you reach the blockage, advance and pull back the cable, while it is rotating,
until the obstruction has been cleared.
When the blockage has been destroyed remove the cable. Keep the motor operating
in forward operation. User reverse operation only if the cable becomes stuck in the
pipe.
To pull the cable back, press the cable against the edge of the pipe while keeping the
engagement handle lowered. The cable emerges twisted from the pipe. When
approximately 30 cm of cable has emerged from the pipe, release the engagement
handle and slide the cable into the pipe cleaner. Repeat this operation until an entire
section has come out of the pipe. Then disconnect the cable and remove it from the
pipe cleaner. Continue until all sections have been removed
Recommendation: It is often helpful to pour a thin stream of water into the pipe while you
remove the cable to drain off the cut pieces and clean the cable.
