5.2 ADJUSTING THE CUTTING BLADE HEIGHT
The floor saws COBRA are equipped with a height regulation system which is situated on the depth crank
located on the front part of the machine V, Fig.5. To lower the blade onto the cut, turn the control lever clockwise. To
raise the blade, turn it counter-clockwise as per the symbols shown on the machine Fig. 5
The position of the blade is shown on the cutting depth indicator Fig. 5.1 incorporated in these models.
To avoid vibrations due to unforeseen rotations of the control lever, the machine is equipped with a simple mechanism
which blockades the control lever onto the desired position (B, Fig.5). Release the lever each time the height is being
modified.
5.3 STARTING CONNECTION / DISCONNECTION
To start a machine with a gasoline engine, please proceed as follows:
x Raise the blade some centimetres from the ground, as indicated in section
x Check the engine oil level. If too low, the engine will not start.
x Open the fuel cock.
x Close the choke. (There is no need to close it if the engine is warm or temperature is high.)
x Put the choke lever halfway. G, Fig.5 in a light accelerating position. The COBRA-50 model is equipped with a
remote accelerating control, for the sake of comfort and speed.
x Turn the engine switch to ON position.
x Release the stop button E, Fig.5 turning it upwards. This button is additional to the motor switch and allows
stopping and starting the machine with more ease.
x Start the engine and pulling the handle of the recoil starter.
x Let the engine idle halfway for a couple of minutes and then open the fuel cock. Then, open gradually the choke
until fully open.
x To stop the engine, set the speed control lever to the low position and place the machine switch to O position
(C, Fig.5) There is no need to turn the engine switch to OFF position because the machine includes an
ON/OFF switch that is more comfortable for the operator.
x Close the fuel cock.
For further details, consult the engine manual.
For machine with gasoline motor model IGX440 15 HP, proceed as follows:
x Raise the blade some centimetres from the ground.
x Check the engine oil level. If too low, the engine will not start.
x Turn the motor switch to START position and hold it until the motor starts up but not for more than 5
seconds: If the motor does not start, repeat this operation waiting for 10 seconds each time.
x When the motor starts, turn the motor switch to ON.
x Let the motor warm-up for 2 to 3 minutes.
x To stop the motor, raise the blade from the ground, decelerate completely and push the stop button
downwards E, Fig.5. This button is the same as an emergency stop in the event of sudden need. It is, then,
not necessary to put the motor switch in the OFF position as the machine is already stopped.
If the starting motor does not work:
x Press the manual choke lever.
x Turn the motor switch to the ON position.
x Pull slightly the starter grip until you notice a resistance, and then pull with force. Let the starter grip return
slowly.
x Let the motor warm up for two to three minutes.
