Inserting and ejecting discs
This operation is done when the power is switched on.

Press
ON/STANDBY
to turn the power on.

Hold the edges of the disc, and insert the disc into
the disc slot.
• Do not touch the recorded surface (shiny surface) with your
hands.

EJECT
Press
and remove the disc.

The DN-501C displays various messages during use. The message
contents are explained below.

The disc slot is empty.
Ejection of the disc that is currently being

played is locked. Playback needs to be
stopped for the disc to be ejected."
NOTE
Do not attempt to push a disc in by hand when the power is off. Doing
so may damage the CD player or cause a malfunction.
Connecting a USB device or iPod
DN-501C supports external USB devices (mass storage class).
• A USB hub is not supported.
• FAT16/FAT32/HFS+ (read only) file systems are supported.

NOTE
• Do not remove the USB device during USB playback. Forcibly
removing the USB device during USB playback may damage the
data on the USB memory or hard disk.
• Do not use an extension cable to connect the USB device.

Cautions when using media
• Do not use a cracked or warped CD or USB drive, or one that has
been repaired with adhesive.
• "Loading..." appears on the display when media is used or loaded.
Do not remove the media while this message is displayed.
