Installation
5.1
Mechanical installation
Do not modify the screws and threaded pins if not directly
requested to do so in these operating instructions.
Mount the motor onto the axis in accordance with the mounting
instructions for the motor mounting kit EAMM-A/-U.
5.1.1
Installing the product:
Note
Tensile loads that are too heavy may cause the screws in the cover to be pulled out.
Note that with heavy loads, the axis must not be fastened only by the bearing cap.
When the axis is attached via the bearing cap, the cylinder barrel can become twis
ted with regard to the bearing cap if there are torque loads around the longitudinal
axis.
When installing, ensure that there is no tension or deflections
present (evenness of mounting surface ≤ 0.05 % of the stroke
length; max. 0.5 mm).
For gantry applications, parallel alignment of the axes is addi
tionally required. For additional information, please contact
your local Festo Service.
Position the ELGA in such a way that its control sections are accessible (e.g. relubrication openings
in front or on top).
Observe the required support spacings.
The diagrams (è Chapter 13 Characteristic curves) give the specified support spacings that result
dependent on the mounting position and payload. If the specified minimum distances are exceeded,
it is imperative to carry out an individual functional test.
Note
Unsuitable attachment variants can reduce the service life of the ELGA considerably.
Make sure that the mounting components are outside the positioning range of the
slide.
