MAINTENANCE
Important! Before cleaning, servicing or
repairing the mixer, it is absolutely neces-
sary to unplug it from the mains.
Lubrication
Periodically (at least monthly) dry and vase-
line the bowl holder guideways.
All other mechanical parts (gears, bea-
rings,...) are life-lubricated and require no
further maintenance.
Tension and replacement of the belt
Check the belt for proper condition periodi-
cally (at least once a year). To do so, open
the drive cover (B) with care to avoid exten-
ding the control panel cable too much.
If the belt is found damaged, change it,
proceeding as follows:
-Undo the 4 motor support fixing screws
in order to be able to remove the belt.
-Mount a new belt.
-Stretch the belt by moving the motor
support (tension should not be excessive)
and retighten the 4 motor support fixing
screws.
If the belt has slackened, undo the motor
support fixing screws and stretch the belt
as explained above.
Miscellaneous
If the power cord gets damaged and must
be replaced, such a change may only be
done by a SAMMIC-approved technical
assistance service.
On detecting any malfunction of the
appliance, contact a SAMMIC-approved
technical assistance service immediately.
EQUIPMENT (Fig. 2 Page 14)
The standard equipment includes one
stainless steel bowl and three attachments:
1. Dough hook, corkscrew-shaped, for all
types of hard dough.
2. Mixing blade for soft pastry dough.
3. Whisk for all types of emulsions.
CLEANING AND HYGIENE
-The bowl (H) and the attachments,
being in contact with the mixture, must be
cleaned immediately after use. To this end:
-Prepare a soapy solution with four spo-
onfuls of a multipurpose cleaner per litre of
water.
-With a soft cloth moistened in the soapy
water, remove any food remains.
-Soak the utensils in the soapy solution
for 30 minutes at least.
-Rinse thoroughly with clear water.
-After cleaning, allow to dry at room
temperature.
-DO NOT WASH the body of the applian-
ce under a water jet. Clean it with a wet
cloth and a multipurpose cleaner.
-Inspect the rear aeration grid periodi-
cally to make sure they are not clogged.
-In order to be able to clean the guard
(I), it is preferable to disassemble it. For
this purpose, unscrew the two handles (J),
remove the bowl up/down lever (E) and
remove the safety guard (I). Then, clean it
with non-abrasive cleaner (to avoid scrat-
ching) and a jet of water. Replace the
guard, proceeding in reverse order.
SAFETY FEATURES
-When raised, the safety guard (I) stops
the motor. It prevents access to the attach-
ment while the appliance is working.
-Descending the bowl holder (F) causes
the appliance to stop.
-It is necessary to set the variator control
knob (A.1) to the minimum speed in order
to start the appliance.
-The attachment stopping time is less
than 3 seconds whatever the speed.
-In the event of a mains failure, the
machine will not restart when power turns
on again.
-This appliance is protected against
overvoltage, overload and overheating.
-WARNING! Do not start the appliance if
the bowl is not fitted.
TROUBLESHOOTING
The mixer does not start
Check that:
-the mixer is plugged in and the mains
supply is ok;
-the safety guard (I) is down;
-the bowl (H) is in the working position;
-the variator control knob (A.1) is set to
the minimum speed.
The mixer stops while working
-If the motor overheated, let it cool for a
few minutes before restarting the mixer.
-In case the appliance had been overloa-
ded, reduce the load before restarting it.
Other faults
-If the appliance produces a metallic
noise, check for a possible deformation of
the attachment and that the bowl is placed
correctly in its holder.
-If the motor rotates and the attachment
does not move or jerks, check the belt.
-It can happen that the machines block
for safety reasons due to fluctuations in
the mains. In this case, it is necessary to
disconnect and re-plug the machines to
restore normal operation.
