4 Safety Precautions
￭ Electrical components of the KombiMotor can produce
sparks. Sparks may cause a fire or an explosion in an
easily combustible or explosive environment. This can
result in serious or fatal injuries and damage to property.
► Do not work in an easily combustible or explosive
environment.

Safe condition

The KombiEngine is in a safe condition if the following
conditions are fulfilled:
– The KombiEngine is undamaged.
– The KombiEngine is clean.
– The controls work and they have not been modified.
– A KombiTool specified in this Instruction Manual is fitted.
– The KombiTool is correctly fitted.
– Only an original STIHL accessory for this KombiEngine is
fitted.
– The accessory is correctly fitted.
WARNING
￭ Parts that are not in a safe condition cannot function
properly and safety devices can be disabled. People can
be seriously injured or killed.
► Never use a damaged KombiEngine.
► If the KombiEngine is dirty: Clean the KombiEngine.
► Do not change the KombiEngine. Exception: Installation
of a KombiTool specified in this Instruction Manual.
► If the controls do not work: Do not operate the
KombiEngine.
► Only fit original STIHL accessories for this
KombiEngine.
► Fit the KombiTool as described in this Instruction
Manual of the KombiTool.
► Fit the accessories as described in this Instruction
Manual or in the Instruction Manual for the accessory.

► Do not insert objects into the openings of the
KombiEngine.
► Replace worn or damaged information signs.
► If in any doubt: Contact a STIHL servicing dealer.

Operation

WARNING
￭ The user cannot concentrate on the work in certain
situations. The user may stumble, fall and be seriously
injured.
► Work calmly and carefully.
► If light and visibility are poor: Do not work with the
KombiMotor.
► Operate the KombiMotor without assistance.
► Watch out for obstacles.
► Stand on the ground while working and keep a good
balance.
► If you begin to feel tired: Take a break.
￭ If the behavior of the KombiMotor changes during
operation or feels unusual, it may no longer be in a safe
condition. This can result in serious injuries and damage
to property.
► Stop work, pull the connecting cable plug out of the
socket and contact your STIHL servicing dealer.
￭ Vibrations may occur while using the KombiMotor.
► Wear gloves.
► Take regular breaks.
► If signs of circulation problems occur: Seek medical
advice.
