Area 3b – Clear Remaining Wire
F.
Wire Seem Location:
The eWire creates books with the wire seam between the first and last
sheet printed in each book.
If you are using the FreeFlow Printer Server, your jobs will
automatically be reordered to conceal the wire seam.
If you are using Fiery Digital Front End you must follow the method
below to conceal the wire seam.
To ensure that the wire seam on a finished book is located between the
rear cover and the last sheet of the book, the page order delivered to
the eWire must be altered.
First
follow
the
steps
above to remove all paper
jams and wire feed jams.
After opening the Area 1
cover and closing it, the
holder should retract and
become
accessible.
Before
resuming
operation,
check
if
a
segment of wire has been
cut and is still in the
machine.
To remove a wire length
from the holder, with one
hand press in the green
tab to disengage the wire
and with the other hand
pull the wire free.
The wire seam is
where the two ends
of the C shaped
unclosed wire come
together to bind the
book.
The pages should be sent to the eWire in the order of rear cover, front
cover, book body.
For simplex printing you mush reorder the sheets so that the last sheet
is printed first.
Example: If you are printing a 10 sheet book, to ensure that the seam
is between sheets 9 and 10, the job must be sent to the eWire with the
following page order. 10, 1, 2, 3 ... 9
For duplex printing, the pages need to be reordered such that the
second to last page is printed first, followed by the last page, and then
the rest of the book.
Example: If you are printing a 20 page book with double sided sheets
(10 sheets printed front and back), to ensure that the seam is between
sheets 9 and 10, the job must be sent to the eWire with the following
order. 19, 20, 1, 2, 3 ... 18.
After removal from the book tray, each book's front cover must be
moved into its proper position as both of the covers will be on the
bottom of the book.
There are several methods available to reorder the page order.
