8. Connect the earth wires with eyelets from both wire lanes to the vehicle earth in the rear right
side of the trunk.
9. Run the two continuous positive wires (red, red/black) forwards through the vehicle up to the
battery. If there is no free cable support sleeve/cable bushing in the engine space splash guard,
a hole must be drilled for the enclosed sleeve. Insert the enclosed sleeve and run the continuous
positive wire through the sleeve into the engine space.
Clip each of the two wires into one of the supplied fuse holders.
There are two red wires with ring eyelets for the continuous positive connection supplied in the
accompanying packaging. Clip the contacts of the two red wires into the free sockets on the
fuse holder. Clip the enclosed yellow secondary locking mechanism into the fuse holder. Ensure
that the contacts are sitting properly.
Check that everything is tight. Lay the continuous positive wire in such a way that there is no risk
of the wire being exposed to abrasion or wear.
Connect both ring eyelets to the positive terminal of the battery.
Insert both fuses in the fuse holders and put the protective cap in place.
10. It is possible to deactivate the parking aid for vehicles in towing mode. For this, lay the single
brown/white wire at the trailer control unit to the parking aid control unit and connect at the 16-pin
plug to pin 5.
11. Secure the placed wires with cable binders.
12. Re-install removed parts, re-connect earth on vehicle.
The non-assigned 3-pin socket is for the adaption of a separate continuous positive line set. This
can, if desired, be obtained from a Westfalia dealer.
Check all functions with a suitable testing instrument (with load resistance) or with a towed vehicle!
