9.4.4 - Anti-vibration systems
Anti-vibration devices interposed between the unit and the installation surface can be installed by the installer.
!
Using anti-vibration system modifies the unit's resistance against stresses.
It is up to the design engineer to assess the effects of using anti-vibration systems and determine
the technical-organisational solutions to reduce them. Modine is fully relieved from any liability
for any accidents resulting from the use of anti-vibration systems.
9.4.5 - Hydraulic connections
Hydraulic connections must be made in compliance with national or local regulations; the pipes can be made of
steel, galvanised steel or PVC. The pipes must be accurately sized according to the nominal water flow of the unit
and to the pressure drops of the hydraulic circuit. All hydraulic connections must be insulated using closed-cell
material of suitable thickness.
9.4.6 - Electrical connections
All connections must be made up to standard. In all cases, refer to the wiring diagram supplied.
Observe the characteristics of the electric power supply indicated on the plate.
The choice and size of the cables must be determined by the installer according to the environmental characteristics
and to the regulations in force in the country where the unit is installed.
As an example, below is a non-exhaustive list of criteria for the choice of cable:
-
maximum current absorbed by the unit,
-
distance between the unit and the power source (voltage drop at the ends of the cable),
-
protection against short circuits,
-
protection against the effects of overheating,
-
presence of neutral conductor,
-
insulation characteristics.
To avoid possible motor damage strictly follow the electric schemes shown.
Before using motor speed control systems verify the compatibility with the motors; non compatible systems may
damage motors or increase noise level; the manufacturer will not be responsible for model performance with
speed control systems.

( * ) Inner protection thermal contacts
The thermal contacts are temperature sensing, switching elements built directly into the windings of the motors. They interrupt an
electrical contact when maximum admissable sustained temperature has been reached.
The thermal contacts must be connected to the control circuit of the mains contactor to prevent automatic reconnection of the motor
in the event of a fault.
In compliance to the laws in force, before connecting the unit it is necessary to ensure that the electrical supply
is isolated and secured from accidental reconnection as to protect against electric shock, to safeguard the
equipment and other.
