Troubleshooting guide

Before requesting service, make the following checks. If you are in doubt about any of the check points, or if the solutions
indicated in the chart do not solve the problem, consult your dealer for instructions.
Problem
No sound.
Sound is distorted.
Excessive noise.
No sound, sound is
distorted, or there is
excessive noise.

Probable cause(s)
Is the unit that the transmitter is
connected to on?
Are the unit and the transmitter
connected?
Is the volume too low?
Is the input level of the audio signal
too high?
Is there an obstruction between the
transmitter and the headphones?
● Are other radio waves obstructing
the transmitter's waves?
● Are the transmission frequency
and the receiver's frequency
tuned correctly?
Is the input level of the audio signal
too low?
Is the OPR indicator dim or does it
fail to light at all?
Suggested remedy
Turn the unit on.
Connect the unit correctly and ensure the
plugs are properly inserted.
If the transmitter is connected to the
headphone jack, turn up the volume of the
connected unit.
Turn up the volume on the headphones.
If the transmitter is connected to the
headphone jack, turn down the volume of
the connected unit.
Remove
the
obstruction,
transmitter, or change position yourself.
Change the transmission frequency with
the transmitter's [CHANNEL] switch and
then tune in the headphones with the
[TUNING] dial.
Raise the antenna.
If the transmitter is connected to the
headphone jack, turn up the volume of the
connected unit.
The batteries have run down. Recharge
them. If the indicator remains dim after
recharging, the batteries have come to the
end of their serviceable life and need to be
replaced.
