you may wish to increase the control surface travels.
We recommend that you set 30 - 50% Expo on the elevator
channel.
- Disconnect the battery from the speed controller, then switch the
transmitter off.
Test-flying, flying notes
- Please read the sections entitled "Routine pre-flight checks"
and "Flying the model" in the Safety Notes before attempting
to fly the model for the first time.
- For your first few test-flights please wait for a day with no more
than a gentle breeze.
- A good flying site consists of a large, flat, open grassy field. Keep
well clear of obstacles such as trees, fences, high-tension over-
head cables, etc.
- Check all the working systems one last time.
- Ask an experienced friend to launch for you; he should be capa-
ble of giving the model a reasonably powerful hand-launch.
- The aeroplane must be launched directly into wind.
- For hand-launching you should grasp the model by the recessed
hand-grip.
- Switch the motor on, and give the model a strong launch direct-
ly into wind.
- Please take care not to touch the spinning propeller with your
fingers - there is always a greater risk of injury with a pusher
propeller.
Note that the propeller opens abruptly when the motor is
switched on.
- Keep the Sport Wing flying straight and level at first; don't turn
the aircraft when it is close to the ground.
- Adjust the trims if necessary to obtain a smooth climb.
- It is important to observe carefully how the model responds to
transmitter commands in flight. If you need to increase or reduce
travel to suit your personal preference, make the appropriate
adjustments as soon as the model is back on the ground.
- Take the aircraft up to a safe height, and slow the model down
so that you can recognise its stalling speed.
- Carry out the landing approach at a safe speed, i.e. well above

the stall.
- If you had to alter the trims during the flight, adjust the pushrods
after the landing and return the transmitter trim sliders to centre,
so that full trim travel to both sides of centre is available for sub-
sequent flights.
