- Slot together the side panels 3 and the front and rear base
plates 4 and 5, and glue the joints using white glue.
- Glue the motor bulkhead 6 to the framework.
Fig. 34
- Glue two doublers 7 to each side of the rear base plate 5 as
shown.
Figs. 35 and 36
- Place the Velcro dots 8 (loop) and 9 (hook) together, and stick
the dots 8 in the circular recesses in the RC compartment and
the wing as shown.
- Peel off the backing film from the Velcro dots 9.
- Place the prepared motor mount on the model and press it down
firmly in order to stick the Velcro dots 9 to the wing.
- Remove the motor mount again.
Fig. 37
- Press the captive nut 30 into the rear base plate as shown.
- Push the rubber grommet 31 into the motor bulkhead.
Figs. 38 and 39
- Place the completed motor mount on the model, mark the posi-
tion of the 3 mm Ø hole on the wing, working through the cap-
tive nut, and pierce the hole right through the wing.
- Turn the wing over. Place the washer 3 on the screw 33, then fit
the screw through the hole from the underside, and into the cap-
tive nut in the motor mount.

- Propeller 34:
Carefully remove the lugs on both sides of the propeller hub, so
that the propeller blades are free to fold forward and back reli-
ably when installed later.

- Assemble the propeller 34. When fitting the propeller blades K1
ensure that the embossed lettering faces the nose - see arrow in

Assembly and operating instructions
Sport Wing
- Place the stop-plate K4 over the propeller.
- Offer up the spinner and check that the blades are free to fold
forward and back reliably. The spinner should not be fitted per-
manently until the propeller has been attached to the motor
shaft.
- Glue the stop-plate in place and centre it with a mm pin (e.g.
steel rod) until the glue has set hard.

Power system 35:
- This picture shows the motor, speed controller and propeller,
ready to install.
Figs. 45 and 46
- Working from the rear, push the motor into the rubber grommet
as far as it will go.
- Fit the propeller on the motor shaft and secure it. Unfold the pro-
peller blades, and check that there is sufficient clearance
between the blades and the wing trailing edge. When you are
satisfied, fit the spinner cap.
Fig. 47
- Secure the receiver in the RC compartment using the Velcro tape
19 / 0.
- Fix the speed controller to the motor mount using a cable tie 36,
and connect it to the receiver.
Fig. 48
- Stick round pieces of Velcro (hook) to the inside of the canopy 37
as shown. Cut pieces of mating Velcro tape to size and stick
them to both sides of the motor mount.
- Ensure that there is sufficient clearance between the propeller
blades and the rear edge of the canopy.
Fig. 49
- Install the flight battery 38.
Do not connect the battery to the speed controller at this stage.
- Deploy the receiver aerial; see the note on page 31.
Fig. 50
- Place the canopy over the motor mount; the electric glider can
now be balanced.

Final work, both versions
Fig. 51, balancing
- Install the flight battery in the Sport Wing and support it on two
fingertips under the C.G. indicators.
- The ideal Centre of Gravity is located between the centre and
rear tips of the C.G. indicators.
- Support the model on the two rear tips - it should tilt forward
slightly.
- Support the model on one rear and one centre tip - it should now
tilt back slightly.
The C.G. position should be adjusted in such a way that the
"fuselage nose" is angled slightly downward; this is achieved by
installing lead ballast if necessary.
Tip: if you intend to alternate between flying the Sport Wing as a
glider and as an electric-powered model, we recommend that
you attach any ballast to the battery required for each configura-
tion; this avoids the need to re-trim when you swap flying modes.
Figs. 52 and 53, checking the working systems
- Caution: keep well clear of the rotational plane of the propeller
- injury hazard. Read the Safety Notes.
- Switch the transmitter on, set the throttle stick to "motor off",
then switch the receiving system on by connecting the flight bat-
tery or the receiver battery.
- Check the direction of rotation of the motor: the propeller must
spin in the direction indicated by the arrow; if not, swap over any
two of the three cables between the motor and the speed con-
troller.
- Move the throttle stick back to the "motor off" position.
- Set up the delta mixer at the transmitter to superimpose the
aileron and elevator functions.
- Check the neutral position of the control surfaces; correct them
if necessary by adjusting the swivel pushrod connectors.
- Place the model on the floor and stand behind it.
- Check the direction of rotation of the servos.
- Set the elevon travels as shown in Fig. 53. For aerobatic flying
