Transport and storage

Transport
Safety equipment can be transported without
special precautions. Damage must be avoided.
DANGER
Do not put any damaged safety equipment
into operation.
Storage
If the storage period before commissioning is
no longer than 12 months, then it is sufficient
to store the safety equipment in a cool, dry
place, protected from direct sunlight. The
safety equipment can be stored in any position.
To prevent any contamination entering, it is
essential to seal the gas connection and the
bleed points.
The equipment can be stored in its packaging.
3. Commissioning
Safety equipment must not be disabled by
shut-off devices.
Change-over ball valves or blocking devices
can be installed, provided that the design of the
device guarantees that the required bleed point
cross-section is available even during change-
over.
On systems which are equipped with several
independent safety devices, whilst the safety
devices are being tested, the system may only
be operated at a correspondingly reduced
system capacity. None of the safety devices
may be blocked off.
The operating data is permanently marked on
the safety equipment. The marking must be
kept in a legible condition.
NOTICE
In the case of the GSV, the lead seal (2) of
the gas safety valve must be checked for
damage before commissioning.

3.1 Mounting position

The installation position is optional, taking into
account the direction of flow.
Ensure that the bleed points (3) are clear so
that the nitrogen can escape freely.
The bleed points (3) must be positioned so
that in the event that the safety equipment is
deployed, the escaping gas cannot cause injury
to persons.
DANGER
When the safety equipment responds,
nitrogen is released into the surrounding
area. Large quantities of nitrogen in enclosed
areas causes a lack of oxygen.
Risk of suffocation.
When using in enclosed areas:
ensure adequate ventilation.
