Tips for easier readings
• do not measure your blood pressure immediately after eating a large meal. To obtain more accurate
readings, wait at least one hour before measuring your blood pressure.
• do not smoke or consume alcohol before measuring your blood pressure.
• do not measure your blood pressure if you are tired.
• it is important to relax during the measurement. Try to rest for 15 minutes before measuring your blood
pressure.
• do not talk or move your arm or hand muscles when measuring your blood pressure.
• measure your blood pressure at normal body temperature; if you feel hot or cold, wait a while before
taking a measurement.
• if the monitor is stored at a very low temperature (near freezing), put it in a warm place for at least an
hour before use
• leave at least 5 minutes between each measurement.
Taking a measurement
