Pressure level indicator based on the classifi cation of the Joint National Committee (USA)
The 7th report of the Joint National Committee on Prevention, Detection, Evaluation and Treatment of
High Blood Pressure (J.N.C.) has identifi ed 4 arterial blood pressure groups which indicate high blood
pressure risk values.
The Pic CS 530 monitor has an innovative indicator which classifi es, and displays, blood pressure according
to the 4 groups outlined by the J.N.C. and gives an initial indication of the presumed risk (pre-hypertension,
level 1 hypertension, level 2 hypertension)
irregular heart beat indicator
appears when the device is used by User 1
appears when the device is used by User 2
appears when the battery needs to be replaced
indicates the consecutive reading stored in the monitor
indicates the average value of the last few readings (maximum
3 readings)
compares the pressure value measured with values indicated by
the Joint National Committee on Prevention, Detection, Evalua-
tion and Treatment of High Blood Pressure (see below)
informs the user that the heart beat is irregular during the
measurement
