Mobile use without compressed-air connection
The DX2.5 can be "charged" with compressed air. This enables mobile use.
• Disconnect the suction hose and connect the compressed air line.
• Turn the operation handle to the suction position and keep it in position until the pressure gauge reading is in the green range.
Reset the handle to the neutral position and disconnect the compressed air line. The DX2.5 is now ready for mobile use.
NOTE! The duration of mobile use of the unit before new charging is required depends on fl uid viscosity and the
amount of air that are sucked in.
Troubleshooting
Air bubbles in the hose after several seconds of bleeding.
This is normal. When using vacuum air bleeding, a small amount of air
will seep through the thread of the air bleeding screw causing air bubbles
or foam to form in the hose. This does not affect the air bleeding result.
To prevent air entry, apply a small amount of silicon grease onto the
thread. When the brake pedal is fi rm, this indicates air bleeding has
been completed.
No fl uid visible in the hose or container.
1. Is the air bleeding screw blocked with dirt or foreign matter?
Disassemble and clean.
2. Is the vehicle equipped with a brake regulator? Make sure it is set
to the full brake position.
3. Has the brake system been fi lled with fl uid? Check the fl uid level
in the brake fl uid reservoir and fi ll up with brake fl uid if necessary.
If an automatic fi ller is used, make sure it is securely connected.
Fluid is visible in the hose, but the suction effect is poor.
The DX2.5 cannot create suffi cient vacuum.
1. Is the system blocked, causing the operating pressure to fall below
the permissible 5.5 bar?
Inspect the compressor, hoses (suffi cient inside diameter) and the
connections and replace if necessary. Use dry, fi ltered compressed
air to prevent the unit from blocking.
2. Is the canister seal damaged? Inspect and replace if necessary.
3. Is the rubber connection or the suction hose damaged?
4. Is the suction hose correct connected into the lid coupling?
The DX2.5 continues to drain fl uid as a result of the siphoning
effect although the operation handle has been returned from the
suction position.
1. Interrupt the siphoning effect by fi rst turning the operation handle
to the drain position, then to the suction position and fi nally to the
Refi ller Accessory Kit
Part No. 12 016 2405
Includes a refi ller bottle that facilitates effi cient,
one-operator bleeding. Eliminates the need to
check fl uid levels in the brake fl uid reservoir
during the bleeding process and guards against
air being sucked into the brake system.
Hose Extension
Part No. 12 016 2450
Enables access to hard-to-reach brake fl uid
reservoirs in compact engine spaces, such as
on minivans.
Auto Accessory Kit
Part No. 12 016 2205
Includes a refi ller bottle, bleeding hose,
and round top for normal brake bleeding and
clutch/reverse bleeding in confi ned areas.

neutral position. The pressure gauge should indicate the 0 position
between minus and plus.
The DX2.5 stops operating during air bleeding.
1. The fl oat has closed because the unit is full with fl uid and needs
to be emptied.
2. Too much air has been sucked into the container. This can cause
splashing, causing the fl oat to close. Open the fl oat by turning the
handle to the pressure position and then quickly to the neutral position.
3. The unit has been used at very low temperature together with high
humidity workshop air. Put the unit back in room temperature.
Maintenance
Always keep the brake bleeder clean and replace the seals when re-
quired. No other maintenance is required. NOTE! Prior to disassembling
the container for cleaning, make sure the system is not pressurised.
Discarding used brake fl uid
Brake fl uid is harmful to the environment. Discard brake fl uid according
to local regulations.
