user's instructions
oPerAtion - before use for the first time
1. Remove the appliance from the packaging.
2. Clean the appliance thoroughly to remove any manufacturing residues (see "Cleaning and maintenance").
overheating safeguard
You can use the deep fryer only when it is filled with oil or fat. Do not use the appliance if the bowl is empty
or does not contain sufficient oil or fat. The deep fryer is equipped with an overheating safeguard. This will
be activated if the temperature is rising, for example, you use the appliance without (sufficient) oil or fat.
oPerAtion - using the fondue
You can use the fondue set to fondue small pieces of food at the temperature you require.
Ways to fondue
•
Meat fondue: meat will be drunk in boiling oil (sometimes bouillon). With that are all sorts of sauces served.
•
Japanese or Chinese fondue: meat and vegetables will be drunk in bouillon.
•
Fish fondue: pieces of fish will be drunk in bouillon made of fish.
•
Chocolate fondue: pieces of cake and fruit will be drunk in molten chocolate.
tip:
Place a blade, placemat of other protection underneath the fondue set.
The enclosed forks enable you to put pieces of food in the fondue pan, and to remove them when they are done.
1. Place the appliance on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface.
2. Remove the lid
3. Remove the frying baskets.
4. Fill the fondue pan with a maximum of 0,75 litres of oil or bouillon suitable for use in a fondue. Do not use
standard margarine or butter.
5. Fit the anti-splash rim to the pan.
6. Put the plug into the wall socket. The fondue set is switched off when the thermostat dial is turned fully
anticlockwise. The indicator light will not be illuminated.
7. Turn the thermostat dial to the required setting. The indicator light will illuminate. This indicator light
shows that the heating element has been switched on, but that the required temperature has not been
reached. The required temperature has been reached once the indicator light extinguishes.
8. Fondue the products using the forks.
9. Make sure that the food is cooked. This will require between 4 and 7 minutes, depending on the size.
10. Make sure that the liquid is at the right temperature for fondueing. The temperature is correct when the
liquid is bubbling slightly. When the liquid is not bubbling the liquid is below the required temperature;
when it bubbles too much it is above the required temperature.
11. After use, turn the thermostat dial fully anticlockwise. Then remove the plug from the wall socket. The
indicator light will extinguish.
12. In addition to fondue oil, you can also use bouillon or cheese. Cheese fondues are delicious; however,
you cannot cook meat in cheese. When using cheese you will need to set the fondue set to a lower
temperature than for oil or bouillon.
•
Use only metal implements with a suitable insulating handle in the oil.
•
Make sure that the food is thoroughly dry before you fry it. Moist products can cause severe splashing
of the hot oil or fat.
•
Take extreme care when filling and emptying the fondue pan, and when removing and fitting the
anti-splash rim. The inside of the anti-splash rim and the pan are both very hot; the hot vapours and
splashes of fat or oil can also cause burns.
oPerAtion - using the fat fryer
You can use the deep fryer to fry ingredients at the temperature you require.
1. Place the appliance on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface.
2. Remove the lid
3. Remove the frying basket.
4. Fill the bowl with oil or fat. The level of the oil or fat must lie between the 'MIN' and 'MAX' marks in
the bowl. Do not use standard margarine or butter. You can also use solid fat. Melt this by a lower
temperature, for example 100°C.
